BB Recruiting question

Just curious as to why we only have 2 players coming in next year when we lose GT, CJ, MT, Q, and Martin.

Late start for Johnson recruiting + not much to pick from + deeper recruiting base next year

Well we got a few we are recruiting but i think we are recruiting marcus jordan, or at least i think we were.

If we are recruiting him that would be great. But if i know these boards that is complete BS.

ESPN has us as one of the the teams he is considering and we did offer him but all the other sites took us off his list.

from what i hear, we are in the running to land DeMarcus Cousins form Mobile, AL. He is the #3 overall prospect of 2009. Coach J was there 2 weeks ago to visit with him. Rivals has us on his list. It seems like he likes UAB so I like our chances.

John Brady was hired in March of 1997.
Trent Johnson was hired in March of 2008.
LSU was under NCAA investigation in the fall of 1997 and spring of 1998 for violations allegedly commiteed under the prior coaching staff.
LSU is not currently under investigation .
In the fall of 1997 John Brady signed Stromile Swift, Jabari Smith, Marques Ledoux, Jermaine Williams, Brian Beshara, Brad Bridgewater, Collis Temple III, and Brian Helquist, Omar Seli-Mance and Darryl Cooper.
Trent Johnson has signed Eddie Ludwig and Aaron Dotson.
Trent has a lot of catching up to do. It can be done. Brady showed that it can.

LSU is believed to be a losing program thanks to JB. TJ has to work against that perception. This is worse than draconian sanctions as there is an actual tangible reason (John Brady is a terrible coach) for the current issues.

The positives of the last 7 years far out weigh the minuses, but of course you think it's cool to make anothr pithy comment about Brady. Actually last year was teh first losing season since 2001. I believe the image of Big Baby and Tyrus dancing theri way to a Final Four is a more enduring memory.

Dont forget about the 30+ plus players that left the team in the 11 years he was here. I think it averages out to close to 3 players a year.

TJ is also 19-4 with a team that Brady had last year with the addition of a lottery pick

Trent should have kept Butch. Butch would have helped as he helped Brady, problem was Butch would bring the recruits to BR but Brady couldn't close the deal, Trent would.

NSD is not until April I believe. Still lots of worthy guys uncommitted. I'm told TJ is still actively recruiting a half-dozen guys. Hopefully he can land a couple of them.

What was the perception of LSU when Brady took over? I doubt a HC has ever inherited such a mess as Brady. Brady was about the only HC that would take the job. Even the Ole Miss HC turned us down. Can you believe it, Ole Miss?
