I know a lot of people thought if he had a strong camp he would get an offer. I haven't heard much about him thus far.

From what I have heard, nothing special, nothing bad. Otherwise not much other info.

No one has said he's close to getting an offer. No change after today.

If James Smith has his chat tomorrow, I will ask him about D Williams (both of them).

Most of you know the expression, "No news is good news." Seems like when looking at football recruiting, this is not always the case.

See the nearby thread about Sione P. I am still wondering if the staff is trying to decide between the two? (Apologies for repeating a question I already posed on that thread.)

Honestly I never heard anything credible that the staff was definitely deciding between Williams and Sione. I don't want to take shots at either player. Both are very good players, but the drop off between them and LF is big. Sione is definitely not the size of a typical LSU back. If they really want to come to LSU there is TOPS and a preferred walk-on spot. There is no shame in that at all with the talent on LSU's roster. If they want to wait around to see if something falls through I guess it's always a possibility. If either has another SEC offer they should probably pull the trigger.

We also have a new Offensive Coordinator whose last job had a guy named Ray Rice, who is not the size of a typical LSU back.

Especially in the case of DW, as long as he remains patient he will have an LSU offer in the end. Right now it's still early. DW has offers from Georgia and Florida just to name a few so DW has those in his backpocket. There's no doubt LSU needs two running backs in this class so I'm not sure of the talent you are referring to that's on the roster. I'm sure i'll be able to find out a little more about the situation after speaking with a few people including a few coaches at John Ehret whom I know personally and another coach who is there at the camp.

How does that work? I thought you couldn't use the TOPS for football for some reason? I realize they have to qualify academically for TOPS and maintaina GPA thru college, but I thought they couldn't do that with FB for some reason. Maybe i misunderstood that.

That likely won't get him an offer

You got to be Kenny Hilliard size to run that slow and hell I think Hilliard runs a faster 40 than that

I assume he had a cast on his left ankle correct?

Hey, he still has those supposed offers from Florida and Georgia?

BTW, an interesting note. On one of the chats with James Smith, a guy (nnnnnnooooo, NOT me) and James disagreed big time. James Smith really liked D Williams, and the other guy said what the hell are you seeing that I'm not. Anyway, that was pretty confrontational for a NOLA chat but Smith apparently likes the guy more than most of the fans do because I hear no one asking about signing the guy.

I'm not that worried about his 40. The kid knows how to run the football
