6'3 220? It would be great to add a back that size

The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder from Mountain Brook (Ala.) High School was the fifth running back to secure an offer from LSU under first-year running backs coach and recruiting coordinator Tommie Robinson, joining Florida’s Lavonte Valentine and Chris Curry, Ohio’s Tavion Thomas and Texas’ Keatontay Ingram. Robinson spent a good chunk of Friday with the Alabama native before extending the offer. Joiner’s tape shows he can play out of a shotgun offense, which is essential in Matt Canada’s offense, but also change direction with ease, catch the rock out of the backfield and run over would-be defenders. That latter comes naturally with such dynamic size.

I personally like him as a TE or H-back, the position Jalen Hurd should've played. Joiner visited LSU yesterday and was hanging around the players. I think he was there when Guice was squatting 583 pounds.

How many RB "offers" do we have out currently?

Interesting to see if a RB from that state would come here. We need bodies at RB though after what we lose after this year.

LSU has 16 offers out to running backs in this class, all of whom are out-of-state recruits.
From the article in OP.

I wonder if the in state RBs are gonna get butthurt like Etienne

Then they need to do something about it and earn that RB spot.

What do you suggest they do in March to "earn it"?

Doubt it. They'll likely just commit elsewhere like he did. I doubt you'll see any comments like he made though.

Not sure why we worry about this. They're kids with egos for the most part. The coaches will prioritize the guys they see as the best prospects and the coaches will be accountable for what they put on the field.
The instate kids need to show up to camps and such when invited for starters. If I were wanting to get an offer, I think I'd do my part to show interest but that's an old man talking.
Are there even any top notch running backs instate this year? The consensus has been no, so I'm not sure who we are bypassing.

Yes the instate backs will be at UCLA Miss St Arkansas etc.
LSU is gonna have to hope one or two of the out of state will come. They are just another school to the out of state kids. happened last good chance it will happen this year.

Louisiana prospects must think "they are just another out of state school" when they get an offer other than a Louisiana school then. If that is the case we should be fine.

This. June is in 3 months. If a Louisiana prospect cant wait 3 months to get evaluated then there heart wasn't in it anyway.
