I am extremely happy about the kids we are getting. I just don't have faith in the team rankings system.
I just want to celebrate each kid. Very excited to see how this ends but I will praise this staff for the job they are doing and pray we can duplicate this success on the field.

I don't blame you if you don't care about recruiting rankings, but why make a big deal out of it? People are just excited about the talent this staff is assembling. You didn't have to post anything in this thread you know.

My point was that lets get excited about the fruit of this class and not what the sites tell us.
I can read articles and watch videos on how big this is.
Once agin you are right if the rankings get you going more power to you. I was just trying to spark the forget rankings lets just believe we are good because we know movement. It came across as rankings hate. But it's not meant that way.
I love star gazing but the team rankings kill me. Maybe if I understood the formula better. But signing 32 kids and being ranked high means diddly squat to me.

When the dust settles, it will be LSU, FSU, and OSU in the top 3. I still have LSU at #1.

Allen 5* 24
Monroe 4* 32
Fulton 4* 38
Mullen 4* 40
Anderson 4* 44

Divinity 4* 56

As of right now, I am confident in at least 5 of these guys (Lawrence, Monroe, Fulton, Mullen, Divinity). Just those 5 would bring our total to 20 commits and 299.60. That is higher than our #2 ranked 2014 class coming in at 299.30 with twenty six 3, 4, and 5 stars.

I don't think Ohio State will take enough to have the #1 class but I agree that they'll be in the top 3. This will be our 5th top 5 class in the last 5 years. With two 5* and five 4* already on board for 2017 I don't see it stopping anytime soon.
That to me is one of the keys to success. It's not about finishing in the top 5 this year but each and every year. A little bit of greed never hurt anyone.

I agree but that doesn't mean we have to celebrate arbitrary rankings and not the kids. Once again they are great entertainment and solid reference points but at end of day they mean very little.
No one thinks the ranking system is perfect, but if you can't at least discuss it on a Recruiting Board you're going to have one boring and dead board.

Hey Duke. Your right 100%. you even quoted me. I pay attention to them and notice them but I just don't want to get caught up in rankings and not the real focus.
We make fun of Bama for printing t shirts the. We go and do the same thing. Hoisting a mythical trophy up saying we recruited the best group of kids.
The play on sat should dictate that. We so many kids never seeing campus or field the rankings just rub the wrong way. I love individual rankings. I see value in the experts giving talent and scouting grades.
