You have to reach if you want Tigers in this draft, but realistically nobody is a reach past round 15

I select Zalon'tae Hillery, OL, Miami (da U)

tPOS Jembeurt bumped Verlander

Wisconsin OLB Izayah Green-May

He's 6'5 and needs to put on weight but he's going to play under an impressive OLB coach and put on the necessary weight to play every down in the Big 10.

jembeurt selects Mike Harley, WR Miami U

Yes he's small. But every camp I saw him attend, he was uncoverable. He'll carve out a nice niche at Miami U, and is a great afdition to go with my tall WR in Farley.

No guts, no glory

I pick the biggest player in the class of 2017 Indiana DL Juan Harris

He also happens to be the biggest headcase in 2017(if not all time).

-Commits to Iowa as a sophomore
-Decommitted a month later
-Recommits a month after
-Decommitted again 2 months later
-Recommits again 2 months later

... ALL before he played his junior season

-stayed committed to Iowa an entire year only to you guessed it decommit before his senior season
-Commits to Indiana a week later
-Decommits from Indiana
-Recommits Indiana
-Takes a visit to Minnesota 2 weeks before planning to early enroll at Indiana

He's a recruiting troll legend among us Big 10 fans

QB -
RB - Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin
WR - Jalen Reagor, TCU
WR - Ty Jones, Washington
WR - Noah Igbinoghene, Auburn
WR - Tyquez Hampton, Utah
OL - Micah Clark, Rutgers
OL - Tristan Wirfs, Iowa
OL - Wes Harris, TCU

KD Nixon, wr Colorado and Kedonis Haslem, og Toledo.

Nixon is good at football. So is Haslem. Toledo is short staffed at OG and Haslem should play some as a frosh unless they shuffle others around.

jembeurt selects Tommy DeVito, QB Syracuse

The QB class was not strong this year, but I think it's time to grab mine. I like his release, his pocket presence and movement is pretty sound, and has pretty good arm strength. Definitely worthy of taking a chance at this point of the draft.

I'm loading my float for the parade right now. I'll be by later to update.

Dammit... should have just texted him to jembeurt earlier. I was stuck in meetings all day and couldn't check the google doc for picks that had been made so just offered up a bump... back to the drawing board.

All good though... I like a good comeback story anyways. In round 18, Team FibonacciSquared selects K'Rojhn Calbert, Offensive Line - Tennessee.

Perhaps my favorite description for a football player that I've ever seen in an article:
quote:

Raw as a piece of tuna, Calbert lacks any semblance of fundamentals, but he’s a smart kid, an infectious personality and a straight mauler on the field.

He has long arms and a strong frame, and at close to 300 pounds, he clocked a 4.9-second 40-yard dash. Several coaches believe Calbert has the highest-ceiling of any lineman in the state not named Trey Smith — a consensus 5-star talent.

< insert joke about 5 star hearts... >

For anyone who isn't familiar, after an ACL tear his freshman year of highschool and a failed surgery, he largely didn't play for the first 3 years of high school. So he's got a lot of learning to do, but what he lacks in technique and fundamentals, he makes up for in natural ability and effort. His tape is messy, but dude just wants to push people down in any way shape or form... it's like a mad dash to go crush fools.

He's a project, no doubt, but I'd call him a grade A+ potential project that could just as easily not pan out. I feel like OL is such a crapshoot anyways, that I'll take the high ceiling guy if he can stay healthy and get some good coaching.
