First, Alleva embarrasses the football program with the way that was handled.
Then, he fails to act on the basketball program, I can't wait to see renewal rates on hoops tickets.
Watch out PM, you're next for the Alleva train going nowhere.

Not even JJ will be able to recruit himself out of this disaster season. The fact that he was given another year is sad. We have a lame duck program. There is no way they will have any success next year.

Recruiting for 2017 may be real ugly. Jones needs to find kids who want to play for LSU regardless of the coach. Who are the prospects interested in LSU at this point?

At what point does Alleva say screw it. There is no reason to have this shitshow anymore.

Alleva isn't capable of creating anything but a shitshow. It will be up to the next guy to help LSU build from the ashes he is creating.

Why would anyone commit to play basketball for this program and Johnny Jones?

Alleva is equivalent to a corporate CEO/COO correct? In my experience in the business world, when the departments under the CEO are failing (i.e. Operations, Maintenance, Safety, etc.) the CEO is let go and replaced with someone else with competence that can get the company back to where it needs to be to satisfy shareholders. Is college athletics not a business? Why does Alleva get to basically do whatever he wants with no repercussions? I don't understand.

Baylor has been on him hard and he's been leaning that way lately, he's more than likely going to get a 4th Star in the summer and feels like LSU is too unstable, after the departures, the declination of post season play, and Jones future, been hearing about it since mid-February around here, but wasn't sure. I'd love him to pick LSU but I get it. Bigger issue is he's really good friends with Rachal at Natchitoches Central.

If this was a football player, there'd be excuses about enjoying the process, taking visits, etc.

Wouldn't be surprised if commits back to LSU as the aftermath calms down a bit. Skylar Mays did the same thing last year.

Yeah, Jones may do well to even get two star round ball commiments--do they even list two star players?

Let's not forget to also hold the despicable tightwad King Alexander partly responsible along with do nothing Alleva and CJJ.

King Alexander just got here. I don't understand why people are so pissed at him. He's just there trying to do what's best for the university. And as a recent alumn, I can tell you that LSU is in a really bad situation money wise and has been for years. I don't blame him for doing whatever it takes to get the people of Louisiana to take academics seriously, because the mess we're in is a direct result of the populace not placing high importance on academics. Alexander took the job after about 3 higher ups left for lateral jobs to jump ship. Jindal just pushed it off on the new Governor, and no one is taking responsibility.

Alleva has plenty of resources to have a successfull athletics program. He's the one failing.

I think we've found out who the smartest person in America is now. And the answer is Cedric Russell. Good decision by him.

Your logic here makes way too much sense for corporate America: if the departments under the CEO are failing, it's generally the people lower on the corporate ladder who are let go voluntarily or involuntarily.

In this case of LSU basketball, this situation perfectly aligns with a dysfunctional corporation: upper management (JJ and Joe Alleva) are retained. Meanwhile, the people below them (the players & recruits) are unable to play and work under the conditions set forth by their incompetent overlords. Then, the people invested in your product suffer from your lack of self awareness.

This is what has happened to LSU basketball. The people invested in your product (the fans) will eventually make the choice not to buy what you're selling. No recruit and/or player wants to play in a vacant stadium. Explains Cedric Russell's decommitment, and probably others hesitance when it comes to making their choice on where to play college ball. And I can't say I blame them.
