God I wish basketball forced them to stay 2 years. He will be one and done, but still gonna be awesome.

Yep. HUGE. I'd expect some other big time 2015 guys to join him

This. Pretty huge our new assistant has such close ties to the best AAU teams in georgia. Lots of top talent in Georgia for 2015, as always

so much bigger than getting Fournette. this is the day LSU basketball officially becomes a power. fricking huge

While I think Fournette's commitment would be gigantic, I agree with you on this. 5 star hoops players are hard to come by because of the kentucky's, duke's, and kansas's. This is a program changing commitment.

One guy can make a bigger difference in basketball than football. So taking that into consideration, that statement isn't ridiculous at all.

He'd have to stay twice, which isn't going to happen if he stays healthy. I think the coming draft class is too deep, but I think Martin will be a 2-and-done. But we'll win with Jarrel, which will pay dividends on the recruiting trail.

If I'm Johnny, I'm buying a house in Dallas across from Elijah Thomas' place and letting Patrick and McCray live there in shifts for the next year and a half.

something tells me we get Thomas.

Let me dream that he stays twice

Greatest recruiting land I have seen since I began following LSU, in ANY sport. A defining, program-changing recruit.

And you have to look at who we beat out to get him. The unquestionable "juggernauts" of college hoops. This one is gonna put us on the map.

And the type of impact he will have on the program, recruiting wise and on the court. Changes everything for us.

It's because of this:

Think about how many scholarships you get in basketball per year. To get a player of this caliber with all of the competition in college bball to come to LSU who is not from this state is astronomical for our program.

That's fine. It's a reality independent of whether or not you agree.

Are we even in the running for him?

I am just keeping an eye on mccray and how well we recruit Georgia. That should be the huge program changing factor. Also, it'd be nice if Louisiana could produce even a few blue chips over the next couple of years

Coach Jones is a freakin' animal. Congrats to him and Mr. Simmons. For those of you who don't remember what the PMAC was like at its peak, you are soon in for something special.

I'm not really sue how anyone could debate that this is a much bigger commit than Fournette

We sign a LF type basically every year. We haven't had a Simmons commit in...jeez I don't even know...a long time
