This years class will shape up to be very beastly.

Hopefully none get picked in the 30th round

The twins are going to make the Tiger Nation proud. They play the game the way it was meant to be played. Great kids too!

TigerAlum93, you seem to be in the know when it comes to Barbe athletics. I have a question regarding LSU & Fontenot. Was there ever any interest on Fontenot's part to play at LSU? Did LSU have any interest (offer) in Fontenot? Just curious why he is headed to OK State rather than LSU. I've seen him play several times throughout the years and would have loved to see him in Purple & Gold.

“I’ve grown up an LSU fan and I’ve always wanted to play for them,” Bryce said.
“You can’t beat 12,000 people every night game,” Beau added. That’s 12,000 more confused faces when they can’t tell Bryce and Beau apart.
After tailgating most of the day, most see double anyways.

I-20Tiger,
From what I understand, LSU was full at middle infielder. I will tell you this, it is LSU's loss. NOBODY.......and I mean NOBODY shows up on the big stage and performs like Kennon. You cannot measure these kinds of intangibles, and Kennon has the "it" factor needed to play at a high level.
On the flip side, the Tigers DO get a great package deal in the Jordan twins. Two guys that are throwbacks, not afraid to get dirty and do the little things necessary to win games, and are a force to be reckoned with at the plate.
You will also not be reading about these guys having off the field troubles, something I very much appreciate as well. They are even better kids, treat people with respect, and will represent their universities VERY well on and off the field!

Isn't fontenot going to play football too? Didn't that have something to do with it?

From what I gather with no connections whatsoever, just word around town, that it won't matter where he signs, he'll be a 1st rounder.

TigerAlum93,
Thanks for the reply. That is what I had suspected was the case, but just hadn't seen anything "official". I've got a son that has played against all of those guys multiple times throughout the years in Travel Ball and at Barbe & have always been impressed with all of them (both on & off the field). Good to see all of them moving on to the next level.

ive seen him play before, he is very good but doesnt really strike me as a 1st rounder. I could be wrong though.

LSU told him pretty early in process they had no interest in signing Kennon. I wasn't told a reason but I would assume they felt they had more needs at other positions. He isn't going to Oklahoma St to play football. On another note the sleeper of this class is probably Erin Baldwin, headed to Univ of Houston.

How many guys in this class are we going to have to sweat out as of now?

Is Baldwin a pitcher? Tall/rangy kid? If so, I saw him pitch a couple of times last year.
Posted on 11/15/13 at 9:12 am to I-20Tiger
Yes, Erin is probably close to 6'5" now. He has bloomed late! Great kid, and when he fills out it will be even more special than it is now! He is going to have a BIG year on the mound!

Couldn't agree more. I wish we would have offered Kennon. I think he will be very successful. Good kid and works hard.
