My younger brother is 13 years old and is already in the recruiting circles. His traveling football team out of Lafayette is going to be playing in California in a few weeks. Scouts are already telling my parents he will be able to pick any school he wants. Not trying to get my hopes up but I would loves to see him as a highly ranked recruit in a few years. Anyone on here has any experience with a family member being recruited?

My whole family is all LSU. He was big into LSU when he was younger, now he is all about TCU. He has been to the LSU and ULL camps. Dad said it was too political for him, even at the youth level.

Little old Erath, I know nothing comes out of there, so I won't get credit. He plays both offensive and defensive line. I think he will project as a OT late.

I'll say this. Make sure his sophomore/junior year, he is active in his recruiting. He'll get lots of invites to camps, junior days, and games; make sure he actually goes to as many as he can.

My younger siblings were recruited by low tier FBS and FCS schools. They didn't take advantage of all of their opportunities to be around the school and it hurt them down the line.

Yeah good advice. I fellow recruiting very close. I knew it was big, I had no idea how early they start. My parents are over their heads. My dad has no idea want is about to come if my younger brother continues to improve and grow

Teach him how to eat right if he is a lineman.

I got less than 300 posts in 3 years. You think I make stuff up. I have no reason to. I'm just excited from my younger brother. He getting a lot of good experience and exposure.

I hope I will be able to come back here with pride and let y'all know how he has progressed. But if he is great in high school I won't have to.

Congrats. You are right to be proud of your brother.

And don't worry about Maximus. Look at his post count, and determine whether or not you think he has a life. Then consider whether or not you care about his opinion.

My brother is in the 8th grade. He is 6'2" 266 lbs, it doesn't take much to get noticed when you are built like that.

Send him to as many camps / showcases / sponsored events / SPARQ camps / combines / etc as possible. And try to get tape / highlight reel on him.

And i hope the people that are talking about his age and what not realize that we had an 8th grader commit to us in Zadock Dinklemann... class of 2018.

The whole recruiting process is getting younger and younger.

Our mom is working on getting film made on him. She is really taking this recruiting process well. Our dad on the other hand needs to get with the program, he is old school. This trip to California is just the tip of the iceberg.
