#1 Recruiting Class Ranking in Perspective ... Alabama

First off this is not Bama envy or bashing. This is strictly about recruiting and on field results...
2009 #1 Alabama
2011 #1 Alabama
2012 #1 Alabama
2013 #1 Alabama.......and most likely
2014 #1 Alabama
Yet on the field...
2010 Lost to South Carolina, LSU, Auburn
2011 Lost to LSU
2012 Lost to Texas A&M who lost to LSU
2013 Lost to Auburn who lost to LSU / Oklahoma who lost to Baylor 41-12 and Texas 36-20
I am not trying to discredit Alabama. I am trying to give LSU fans some perspective. Rankings are important and indicative of performance on the field but they are no guarantee for perfection. Even with all the #1 rankings, media hype, and Nick Saban Alabama (as well as us in 03 and 07) STILL needed help to overcome losses for the championships they won.
So even with the losses this year in recruiting, and it definitely hurts, it still is not the end. Things have a way of working themselves out. If we close strong with a top 5 class, I will be happy. I think we should strive to be a top 1-7 class every year. At the end of the day its all about what you do with it, and getting the bounces to go your way.

Same can be said for NFL players from Bama not very impressive. Top class to NFL ratio is a fail.

I don't give a frick about Alabama, and I wish the rest of my fellow LSU fans would feel the same way. Please stop shitting up the LSURB with Alabama information please god.

The only reason Tiger fans make such comparisons is that the media is owned by Saban. He has mesmerized ESPN and friends, owns the SEC, including the refs and scheduling.
Until we beat them again on the field (and keep that score until the clock runs out) we are in the shadow of our last NCG. It was a raw deal that they got to play us and then the fiasco that was that game left us with the taste that is still in our mouths.
Can't wait for next November! I want Fournette, Quinn and company to eat Landon Collins for lunch, supper and dessert!
I want Ed Paris to be lights out!!
That is the cure for what ails us...

I heard an LSU fan this year say that he doesn't care if LSU goes 1-11 as long as the 1 win is Alabama.
I wanted to slap some sense into him

The op makes a great point. People claim we have the most talent then shite on our coaches. Then they shite on them more for not having the #1 recruiting class.
The truth is we aren't the most talented team. There are about 10-15 teams that are equally as talented every year. Every team needs a lil luck with injuries and needs the ball to bounce rt to win a title.
On top of that, the richest in all of college football is prob about to hire someone who won't be better than the one they forced out and would be an underwhelming hire for even LSU, you know the school that could get any coach they want.
