UNO has class tomorrow.

I have it on good authority, but not official authority that Tulane will be open tomorrow as well while service staff prepare. Then closed Tues- until further notice.

Any one care to speculate on chances of LSU closing? I figure open tomorrow for sure, Tuesday 90% chance its open then Wednesday closure? Or am I just being wishful?

This thing is supposed to hit late Tuesday in some models, so I'd say LSU will be closed Tuesday.

Tomorrow, we will get a better idea of where this thing is going and depending on that and any necessary evacuations in NOLA/NOLA Metropolitan area, they could close the university down some time in the afternoon.

I'd imagine that morning classes on Tuesday will happen. Afternoon may be a little luckier and get the day off. Wednesday it's almost certainly closed.

I figured LSU would be closed on Tues

Near landfall Tuesday afternoon. There are a lot of NOLA natives at LSU that may like to be with family & may be a time crunch. I could see them cancelling all classes after 12 on Tues.

Chances are it'll mostly follow whatever NOLA does.

Due to the threat posed by Tropical Storm Isaac, Commissioner of Administration Paul Rainwater announced that state government offices will be closed on Monday, August 27, in the following parishes in the hurricane warning area:

·         Orleans
·         St. Bernard
·         Plaquemines
·         Jefferson
·         St. Charles
·         Lafourche
·         Terrebonne
·         Assumption
·         St. James
·         St. John
·         Ascension
·         Livingston
·         Tangipahoa
·         St. Tammany
·         Washington

State officials continue to monitor weather conditions, and this announcement may be updated.

All agency heads are responsible for determining those essential personnel who should remain on duty or those who should report to alternative work sites if necessary.

State government employees should be aware of the following phone numbers to call, which will be updated with information regarding office closures: 1-800-360-9660 or 225-342-0498.

Great, I look forward to fighting traffic just to get to UNO tomorrow. This leaves students/faculty from NOLA area colleges with only one day to evac if they plan to do so. Kind of bullshite if you ask me. Plus what about students from St. Charles parish?
