Do the admins decide to anchor a thread based on content?

Can the originator of the thread demand that it be anchored?

Just curious. I've seen really bad threads get anchored, justly so. But I've also seen good threads (IMHO) just disappear. Many times when things start going badly for the OP.

I didn't anchor this thread. Apparently someone who doesn't like anything critical about Cruz, or any type of intelligent debate requested it anchored, and admins must have agreed.

Shocking to me really. The thread to which I believe you refer actually had some intelligence and facts in it.

Ah well, best it get anchored I guess, but long live the no content, no thought, no facts threads.

Edit, and things weren't getting bad for me. I suspect things were getting bad for your defense of Cruz.

Nope far from it. I asked if the author could request an anchor because ALL of yours were anchored.

But I thought I was I was Holding the winning hand not you.
