1. Is there a way to send a private message to another user on TD?

2. Do y'all go back to the first page to reply to the original post after reading through a thread? Is there an easier way to do this?

1. only admins can PM

2. click the 'post reply' at the bottom of a post you want to respond to...

If there was a PM function this would probably be the greatest site ever.

I see what you mean- if you are on page 6 of a thread but you want to reply to the OP, there isnt a way. maybe a button that says reply to op would be nice.

Open op reply post in new tab before reading a thread will solve all your problems

but how do you know you want to reply before reading the thread?

unless you are one of those that reply to everything.

So you read the OP and the entire first page and don't want to reply yet. Then you read subsequent pages only to decide that you do actually want to reply to the OP now instead of specific posts on later pages? Seems odd to me.

It's cause he wants to make sure he's in line with the groupthink of the thread.

I do it sometimes on long threads to make sure what I said hasn't already been said and discussed ad nauseam.

yaeh I didnt say what I do. just trying to figure out exactly what the op wants.

I personally never read an entire thread if its over 3 pages. and no one cares about my opinion anyway so I post whatever I feel like. no one knows me here irl
