Reply Notification Alert?

I'm wondering if there would be a way to have a small "{TD}" icon (or something) in the corner, near maybe "Settings | Sign Out" that could alert you with a little "!" or even a number/counter for replies to your posts...
I post on OT primarily, but when I venture out to seek more intelligent conversation/debate/advice/etc, it's difficult to constantly circle back to those other boards to check for responses.
Currently, I click "Posts" at the top left and scroll to see replies... but it seems to me that the functionality is available nowadays on the web.

How would that be helpful other than the steps you are already taking?
A reply notification would happen whenever you had a reply.
Just like the little 1 or 2 or any number you have when you have a reply.
You would have to go through extra steps to see what your replies are with that notification.
