Anyone know of a group that does open water swims in South Louisiana? Im interested in doing the Alcatraz swim but haven't done any open water swimming in quite some time.

Thank you. That's very helpful.

I would check with some of the Triathlon training groups. They usually do open water training. And if there is a Masters group in you area they may point you towards a group.

There is a group that swims in False River a good bit, maybe once a month or so. You can reach out to False River Paddle Company and see when they have come because the Triathlon groups usually team up with them. There aren't many in summer as it's so hot but it will pick up as it cools off some.

Who would swim the Mississippi? That's insane.

It's worth checking out Total Immersion swimming if you want to see some great LD technique.
