How do you get your fats?

How do you diet guys get your fats? I've been using the MyFitnessPal for about a month. I do 15% carbs, 35% protein, and 50% fats. I hit right around my protein goal everyday. Sometimes a touch under, sometimes a touch over, but always pretty close. I'm always below on carbs that it sets around 60, especially net.
My problem is getting all the fats. It wants me around 90, but the most I get on most days is about 60. I get around the goal on some days when I eat fatty meats or eggs, but don't eat those that often.
How do you baws get your fats if you're eating lean meat that day or if you struggle with this as well. Secondly, I guess, is it even that important. Am I fine under performing on fats, or should I really work to try to get all of them in?

I eat steak and eggs if I have higher fat macros. Why would you choose lean meat over a delicious piece of steak or glorious salmon sashimi? screw chicken breast if I have fat to use. Also I will do free range eggs I buy locally, alot of times just the yolks.
But to answer your questions I use avocados which i love, olive oil, grass fed butter/ghee/brown butter and also I get things from fat works, they have all kinds of great fats for you there.

Avocados, nuts, olives, cheese, olive and coconut oil, and I take a triple fish oil supplement everyday.

I eat steak and salmon, but not every day. I actually just like chicken. I like red meat as well, but if I eat them too often I get tired of it as the taste is strong to me after a while. I don't like avacodos, but do eat nuts so I could increase the amount I'm eating. I'll also try to start eating a few more eggs. I actually use olive oil a decent amount but haven't been adding it in on my fitness pal so I may be closer to my goals than I think if it's a significant source of fat.
Back to my original question. How imperative are fats? Should I really strive to make sure I'm hitting the numbers everyday, or is it fine to sometimes come up short?

its fine to come up short sometimes but overall if its going to be your main macro, then you need to hit more often than not.
Look into fat bombs. They have recipes for sweet or savory depending on your mood.
And yea olive oil is great so is mct oil(coconut oil). Also macadamena(sp?) nuts. Can also try bulletproof coffee.

Easiest way is fatty meats high and cooking with olive oil.

Tablespoon of coconut oil. Just let it melt in your mouth.

I struggle with eating too much fat.
Eggs, avocado, EVOO, dark chocolate. Pretty much hits my 72 grams immediately.

quote:One great and easy source is these Costco macadama nuts. Super simple and satisfying. I also take swigs of cream throughout the day as well as spoonfuls of butter. Also, try coconut cream. I've also recently taken to making my own heavy cream yogurt. It's super easy to make and is ultra-decadent. A favorite snack/dessert is to put some over berries.

they don't add a ton of fat, but i throw some roasted cacao nibs (no sugar) in my bulletproof, for a little different flavor. i prefer my coffee black, so bulletproof can be a chore for me. sometimes i'll just shoot mct/liquid coconut oil with black coffee and be done with it.

reprogramming people from the anti-fat propaganda campaign is going to be more arduous than ridding the world of alchemy and phrenology. even when you understand the biochemistry, studies, etc, it is tempting to feel guilty eating a nice ribeye, skin-on chicken thigh, butter pat, or strip o bacon. i think people accept avocado, olive and coconut oil a lot easier. at least that's a great starting point.

I don't think it'll be that difficult. The baby boomer generation seems to be the ones affected most by it. Millennials are notorious foodies who have glamorized bacon, BBQ, and tv shows like No Reservations.
Plus once you get someone eating a delicious fatty piece of meat, they'll recognize how much more enjoyable it is and quickly forget about feeling guilty.
The biggest issue is the other side of the aisle: diminishing the amount of refined carbs and sugars we put on our plates.
While people may begin to enjoy ribeyes, they may not be able to separate the huge helping of mashed potatoes from the meal. Plus the other side of mac and cheese and bread and butter. With a side of coke or beer. And coconut cream pie for dessert.
