Thought about doing one next year. I've wanted to do one for a long time but end up giving up. Gonna do it at least once to say I did.

LSUweights obviously does them.

Just sounds like a ton of work.

I understand how hard it is because I have a couple of friends that do them and see what they do. I don't know about ton of work but just being discipline enough to do it.

I would love to get into it but I have no idea where to even begin.

The idea is easy. It's the follow through is what is hard for me.

I would love to but I just looked at what weight class I would be and I am pretty sure I don't have a Super Heavyweight muscle mass that I would need to not embarrass myself!

Nah, I like to do powerlifting meets tho. I'll never lose my stomach no matter what I do. Genetically I'm screwed in that area.

I bet you would lose about 40lbs to get ready for a show. I'm 205lbs and about 15% BF. If I were to compete, I bet I'd be in around 175-180.

Yeah, I know. I am 258lbs now but I carry it semi-well with my height. My inner abs are weak.

Yuuup
Been doing them as a natural since 2008
Got about 2-3 more years in me before I retire and just coach/help competitors

It takes a freaking ton of dedication and discipline
You become a very selfish and self-centered person, even if you're a nice, humble guy like me... because it really consumes your life
Day in and day out... training, eating every 2.5-3 hours, cardio, posing practice, the strictest diet you've ever had
I will go to restaurants with the wife and order only water, excuse myself to run to the car and eat a packed meal if I have to
I think it's all worth it though.. because I was a fat kid in high school/college
Now, I love pushing my body to the limit and then taking it past the limit
I'm here to help if you need though

That's where I am right now, pretty much on the dot
But I'm 5'6"

I was 148 lbs on weigh in on my first show in 2008
154 my second
165-170 since then

Will definitely hit you up. I'm going to be putting on some mass till next January and then start dieting from there. I wanna be about 215 and around 15% before then. I know I can because I have been lax this past year and lost some muscle. I typically ran 220 in college with about 12% (I also didn't have kids and a job to worry about )

Ill say yes for now but I was thinking the year after but might be able to do one then. Right now I am carrying right at 165lbs of lean mass, SO would be below 170 at weigh in. Small as hell even for physique considering I am 5'10"

I've got the lean muscle mass (6'1", 228 w/12-13% BF) but no way in hell I could get up on stage in boardshorts, let alone posing trunks. I do love the bikini/figure look on women but dating them is a handful. Whoever said fitness competitors are narcissistic is spot on.

I know how you feel
While I don't have kids yet, I do have work
I can say that I was much harder and dryer when I was in college and had the time to train twice a day and do cardio 5 times a day (3 weeks before show)
It's hard to get all that in now

Was going to say if you moved to Central (instead of Zachary) we could workout a few times together at the Snap but I'm currently in the process of building my garage gym.

Good luck BTW in finding a house. I'd personally opt for Zachary since it's close to the job.
