re: 40ish baws: Ever felt like shite all the time? Not fat, seemingly good health?Posted by Nature Boy on 10/7/17 at 8:28 am to McLemore
Geez man that's horrible. I just feel lazy, unmotivated, and tired. Usually kicks in by lunchtime, especially after eating. When you were 'feeling bad', what did it feel like? How did you get diagnosed with lymphoma? That's like my worst nightmare!

sorry, didn't mean to scare. I just learned the value of getting shite checked out when you know your body and know something isn't right.
i hadn't been to a doctor since my pediatrician. always healthy.
when the "general malaise" persisted for over 3 months --after an ER visit in a small mountain town while on vacation, an urgent care visit, and then a visit to a GP, each of whom gave me steroids and antibiotics and never diagnosed the problem--I went back to doctor and said you need to do something besides steroids and antibiotics. got a CT scan. huge lymph nodes in my chest. got a PET scan--it had spread to bones and lungs.
it was gone after 2 months of treatment but i had to continue for another 4 months.
This all started right at a year ago and i'm back to doing everything i did before and then some.

Great news. Congrats. Good luck with continued good health.

Get a full hormone panel. Do research on TRT clinics and have them work with your GP. If your GP is an a-hole, get a new one. Most GP’s are clueless about TRT for men. TRT will change your life at your age.

I did, found out I had a growth on my thyroid and my thyroid was not functioning. They removed my thyroid and growth. Feel great now.

Do you snore? Not getting good sleep will definitely add up. I hit a wall every afternoon until I got a cpap.

What is considered normal T for a 40 year old? I know the ranges he lab and primary docs use is ridiculous. Your normal if you're between 300-1000 lol.

I'm not 40ish, but what does your normal diet look like? May need to make a change.

i had this about 2 years ago.
had my T checked. it was low, but not off the charts low. so i didn't do anything about it.
later that year i had a heart attack. it is hereditary, but nothing i ever got in a dr's report indicated this was going to happen. 100% blockage, which is why i was so tired and sluggish earlier that year.

Have you ever been told that you snore? Do you ever get jolted out of sleep gasping for air? Is your neck size 17 inches or greater?
If any of these things sound familiar, especially with your tiredness, you might want to speak to your primary care doctor about getting a sleep test to test for sleep apnea.
Good luck.

I had the general feeling you did. Went to doc and got full blood work, including T. Cholesterol came out a bit high was all. I've been working out and eating better, but biggest change has been from drinking more water. I'll chug 2 bottles in the AM then keep sipping throughout the day. Energy levels have been much higher, plus it'll flush out all the shite.

^ This. My friend had one done. He doesn't have sleep apnea, but his sleep study showed he gets too much REM sleep. Like you, he's not fat but not in the best shape (I'd consider him average to good shape) and he literally always feels tired/fatigued.

Quit drinking anything other than water or unsweet tea.
Also, check your weight. It might be higher than you think. When I was in college I couldn't gain weight if I tried. Now I have to monitor my calorie intake to stay within normal weight.

This was the source of my age-40ish low energy problem.
