Will Tiger ever play again?

I hope he does, would love to see him go against the young guns on tour.
Just have my doubts considering all the surgeries.

I think he's too messed up between the ears. Would love to see him back out there though

Wish he could, but I think his body has broken down on him and mentally he doesn't realize it's not what it used to be. Combine that with all the young talent out there and the competition in today's game just won't allow it.
For Tiger's sake his best hope is to pull himself together, get right mentally, and find something for fulfillment outside of golf. I wish him the best.

I wasn't a Tiger fan at the time, but the ten years he was on his game he was the best ever.
Really would like to see him come back and get another major. He was fun to watch.

If he does come back, I don't see how he can continue to swing like he did. His back and legs can't tolerate it.

If he does come back, he should just go to a Steve Stricker like schedule. Play maybe 10 events a year. I feel like he'll at least give the Masters a shot every year after watching what Couples and Langer have done recently.

I think he plays again. He's a competitor. His last surgery was more invasive and takes 6-9 months to recover from.
Let's not forget, he contended at the Wyndham in 2015 and made more birdies than any player in the field at the Hero World Challenge in December.
He may not be Tiger Woods anymore, but he's still Tiger Woods

he should rebrand himself as eldrick now. people would stop expecting Tiger things and its a new image. kinda like when kobe went from 8 to 24

Knee and back surgeries are no joke. I think he'll try and play again though. He doesn't want to go out like this.

This is exactly why he started to flatten out his swing at the peak of his career, which led to his struggles. He made a decision to change his swing to increase the longevity of his career. However, he struggled significantly when he instituted these swing changes, and has changed swing coaches several times along the way. I personally, would have just kept the same swing, endured the stress, and had a shorter career - Hindsight is 20/20 though. If you compare Tiger's swing from 2000 to 2008 you will see the changes, so the amount of stress on his back and legs is no where what it used to be, but making that change has resulted in him being a mere shell of his former self.

Tiger will not play competitive professional golf again.

At worst case even if he accepts that he's done, I think he will continue to tee it up at the Masters, Open, and PGA every (healthy-ish) year until he's 60.
So yea, he will most certainly play again. Will he compete for a win again? I don't know..

Kobe won his more respectable championships as 24.
Maybe you meant Michael going to 45?

nah i meant kobe going from 8 to 24 to make people forget about the whole rape thing. tiger to eldrick to forget about the whole cheating and dui thing. jordan did 45 cuz of the baseball thing and then changed back to 23. not really any correlation

I agree with the posters that said he should play like 10-12 select events per year.
He won't be eligible for the WGC events again, probably. Unless he wins on tour again. He can play The Masters, Open Championship, and PGA Championship forever. His exemption for the US Open expires after next year, so starting in 2019 he wouldn't be in the field at the US Open unless he qualified.
He is eligible for The Players through 2018.
So basically, starting in 2019 there will be a lot of major tournaments that he will be unlikely to be able to play.
