i've been using a 34" Scotty Newport Select 2 for a number of years. but i've always been intrigued by the big weight putters, like the spider tour red and hit it well in the store. seems like it would help with short putts.

what are you guys using and what has been your experience with other putters?

I had been using an odyssey blade putter for the last decade but also decided I wanted something with some more weight. It's been easier to keep the putter going straight back and through, especially for short putts.

I tried the comparable looking Scotty but prefer the feel of Odyssey more. Odyssey seems to be a bit softer at impact - the Scotty has a little 'click' sound at impact that I don't like.

I've been using an Edel putter for a couple of months now and I love it. I was a little skeptical at first because my first thought was, "If this putter is so good, then why aren't a bunch of pros using them?" It didn't take me long to answer my own question. It's because they have the resources to have any putter customized to their liking. The fitting process is truly eye opening. I now feel like buying a putter off the rack is like buying a pair of shoes because you like the look, but you don't really know the size of the shoe. How do you know it fits? Check out the link to view the fitting process.

Scotty Cameron Newport for about 8 years. Somebody traded it in at the Golfballs retail center in Lafayette, and I used to have a hookup there. I think they gave it to me for $125, and it looked like it had never been used to stroke a putt. I have fiddled with a ton of others putters and haven't found one that I have to have. I've tweaked it pretty good... bent flat, super stroke grip, cut down the shaft to 33, and I have a heavier weight in the heel than the toe.

I've been using the Titleist Futura for a long time now. It's an older putter but I have yet to find anything with a comparable feel off the face. Most of my buddies who have tried it say they love how it feels.

Funny story on how I got it: my uncle bought it new for 300 bucks. After a few months he commented on how he couldn't make a putt with it. I tried it and immediately loved it. He said buy me an Odyssey 2 Ball putter and he'd give me the putter. Went to Ebay and bought one for 50 bucks.

I lengthened it by 3/4" and put a medium size Super Stroke end weighted grip on it and don't think I'll ever get rid of it.

Been using a Scotty Cameron GOLO 5 for about 3 years. I love it, I've added a medium super stroke grip. It's also the only nice putter I've used other than trying things in a store so my frame of reference is small.

Late night surfing eBay one night I purchased a used limited edition (Japan release only) Odyssey White Damascus half mallet putter. The entire head, except the top view, shows the white Damascus pattern as opposed to the US release that just has a damascus insert.

When they sold new several years ago they had an obscene price around $1,200 in Japan. I bought it used but in very good condition from a seller in Australia for $225. I prefer a firm putter so it has worked well for me.
