A great NYT article on my favorite golf course I've ever played. It's only 9 holes and in a tiny little rural town outside Chattanooga, but it's the best golf experience I've ever had. No fancy clubhouse. No huge crowds. No absurd greens fee.

Just 9 of the most fun holes of golf you'll play. Amazing and big greens. Shot making and options for days. Plus the people running the place love golf and they love Sweetens Cove. The architect will be running the "shop" some days your there. Not many places do you get to shoot the shite with the guy who built the place.

It's getting a cult following and for good reason. If you're near Chattanooga at all, go play it!

You won't regret it. Could easily be made into a cheap golf trip outside Chattanooga.

Dylan Dethier is a good writer. He wrote a book about playing golf in every state the year between high school and college. It was a very interesting read.

They have a good membership price, if you live nearby. Cheaper than playing there three Saturdays a month.

Is this place on the blackout path of the eclipse. Would be a good time to foot wedge one onto the fairway.

The group of guys out there makes the golf course even better. Going back home to Chattanooga in October. I'm hoping to go volunteer a morning or two and help the superintendent out while Im in town (and of course, get in a few loops on the course).

Bama fan, weird question but can we talk off line about a Tennessee course? Thanks.

Played 18 on Sunday and on my second 9 today at Sweetens. This place is too good to stay away.

Nah. Its not bad. Give them a call and they can make it work.

I was able to talk to Rob (the architect) on Sunday since he was running the shop for the day. He said the NYT article was an absolute game changer for them. Estimated that play used to be 75% Chattanooga/25% surrounding areas before the article, and now it has flipped. The majority of the people are coming from Huntsville, Nashville, Birmingham, ATL, etc.

On Sunday, there was a guy who had driven from Detroit making a few loops.
