If you don't know the history this is worth your time. It's a long read but had everything from a accused affair, shunning of the undisputed GOAT (Jack Nicklaus), murder and bankruptcy. Pretty interesting stuff!!!

I just read the whole thing

Many things I didn't know about the course but an amazing story.

That's one of the coolest and most amazing golf stories I've ever read.

Agreed. I grew up with a bit of Bob Lang in me. Had literally hundreds of sketch books of golf courses and holes...wanting to design and build a world class course.

Lang did it. And while he's not responsible for the condition Erin Hills is in today, without his obsession with the property, the USGA would be at another non-descript open course this year.

nice read ... certainly wasn't too long (at least for bama grads ) ... lang deserves some credit for seeing the land and thinking big ... shame he let his ego get in the way ...
