How many of you guys have played squire? Hoping to get to play there next week. Been looking forward to playing there for quite some time.

Nicest golf course in Louisiana.

Sweet, I have really high expectations for sure.

Played it about 15 times. The whole experience is very nice and the facilities are excellent. They treat every guest as if they were a member. The course is manicured and pretty fair from tee to green, but the greens themselves are borderline unfair. They usually have them stimped-out pretty high and they roll well, but they have too much slope to run them that fast. That being said, it's still a must play. Have fun!

Only played it once, greens are ridiculously fast and if you are not playing with someone who has course knowledge be prepared to have a few 3/4 putts. You can miss a 5 foot putt and have a 20 foot putt coming back if you're not careful.

Agreed. Played here last summer and some of the fastest greens ever. Lots of undulation as well so you almost never have a flute putt.

Awesome course! Like others have mentioned, the greens are tricky and very slick. If you want to limit yourself to two putts, you better be able to nail down those 5-6 footers coming back.

It's pristine right now. Probably the best shape it's been in all year due to the weather. What has been said about the greens is pretty spot on. If you can play with a member do so. Squire is easy off the tee, but if you hit it to the wrong place on the green you are dead. You can hit it to 15 ft, but if it's in the wrong place it's almost guaranteed three putt. Either way the facilities and staff are first class so you will have a great time.

it is legit
comments about greens are accurate
my first time there - played 1 - a short par 4 - hybrid off the tee - wedge stuck to 10 feet - had to make a 10 footer for double....I looked like a fool on the first three putts.
after that my putting settled down - keep the ball in play and your score should be somewhat good - That course, it comes down to putting.

Can anyone get a tee time there or do you have to be invited by a member?

Member invite or you're going to need a good connection. Don't screw around and violate any of their course rules either. As the story goes, one member was reminded it was cart-path only on a certain hole and his response indicated that he was "above" that rule . . . before he completed the next hole they had a check refunding his $10k initiation fee delivered to him on the course and they requested that he leave the premises and not return.
If that truly happened, you have to respect the move.
Edit: I believe if you play without a member present they require that you take a forecaddie.

That's interesting. When did you play there (what day was it on)? Ive played out there countless times and known quite a few people that worked there and I don't know that I've heard of a group of non-members not using a fore caddy. I believe you just haven't heard it myself.

$10k initiation fee?
That is a damn bargain - may have to look into this.

It was during the week on a Tuesday, but everything was on a certain members account there so maybe we got a pass that day.

Only 10K for resident members. It is pretty affordable for non-residents.
I've played out there a bunch. You just need to take your time and pay attention to the greens. Don't step up to a 30 footer without reading it.
Course is always maintained well and staff is top notch. Make sure to spend some time and money in that pro shop!

Played it many times. James Davidson I believe invested in it.
Fun track. Fazio greens if I remember correctly.

I'm playing there in December with a member. Anyone know what the green fee is on a Saturday for a guest?
