Not exactly sure how I feel about this. Maybe it's a good time, but I feel like the main reason some people watch the PGA is because it's the last major of the year.

I almost feel like it is forgotten because it is the last major. If it's between the Masters and the US Open, it may get more attention.

This is great news man.

-March: The Players (much better weather then)
-April: Masters
-May: PGA
June: US Open
July: British Open

I like The Open rounding out the season from a historical perspective. Also this should open up more sites for the PGA Championship with better weather in southern states in May vs. August.

Love it!

The Players was my second favorite before it was moved. Maybe the prestige will return.

Yeah, that's pretty hard to beat. Move the playoffs up as well, and less golf interfering with football.

That spreads the big time events out very nicely. I'm a big fan of this.

So since they moved it up no more Whistling Straits, Hazeltine, and they will have to hope for good weather for Bethpage and Oak Hill coming up. This pretty much guarantees future sites will be in the South or the Southwest.

He's got that chance this week.

Hopefully this will give the pga some pep.

I was gonna butch about it moving to the heat of May! But it's in the heat of august, so I assume this opens it up for more venues?

All of those courses will be included in the US rotation and it gives the PGA a chance to have its own unique rotation.

Just read Golf Magazine list of future courses they would like to see. Texas, California, Oklahoma and Florida were mentioned. Southern Hills, Riviera, Doral. Also mentioned a couple of new venues in Houston and another Tulsa course.

It's being speculated that the FedEx cup will move its schedule up. Also talk of an extended break between seasons.

also not sure how I feel. Less to look forward to in the sports vacuum of August.

Sounds like they're trying to make more of a "season" to garner interest. McKinsey and Co. were probably involved.

Houston:
Bluejack - Tiger designed course (Patrick Reed a member)
Champions - they have played Ryder Cup, US Open, & Tour Championships here

It's not another Tulsa course, it's OakTree National in Edmund, OK outside of OKC
-I've played it, they played the senior tour US Open there few years back
