"After Katrina, I don't think anyone thought this would happen," said PGA president and New Orleans native Paul Levy. "This course is a tribute to the passion and perseverance of New Orleanians."

Greens fees will range from $59 to $99 a round for Louisiana residents, depending on the day and time. In-state residents may book a tee time seven days in advance. Out-of-state residents can book a tee time 90 days in advance. The 7,300-yard, par-72 course was designed to accommodate players of all levels, from amateur to professional, and will feature 46 bunkers and multiple tee locations.

Two annual pass options will also be available starting May 1 and include a seven-day pass for $3,000 and a four-day pass (Monday - Thursday only) for $2,000, respectively. "This course is going to be like Torrey Pines and Bethpage Black," said Jones, the architect who, along with Greg Muirhead, also designed those famed public courses in La Jolla, Calif., and Farmingdale, N.Y., respectively. "This isn't just a golf course. This is a gift to the community."

Glad the ole girl finally opened back up.
I'll miss the East and West courses but this looks fantastic.

I heard TOP Golf is headed to NOLA.

I was the first in line to play, set the course record. I played the best round of my life, carded a 93. That record will stand as long as the pyramids.

Whose dick do I have to suck to be a golf course architect?

7,300-yard,
For sure.
If they want to snag the Zurich, they have the length to make a run at it.
Gonna be emotional when I finally play it.
I grew up on the East and West, particularly the East Course.
Pissed me off that it took this long to open back up.
Curious to see the holes that Jones didn't change and which ones they kept from the old layout.

I don't golf, I'm just glad they didn't give in to the environmental loons.

Finally man, it killed me when I would drive passed it and it was over grown yet still out there. I loved the layout of the East, it had every type of hole imaginable and really tested your game.
Finally.

The new golf carts have touch screens. They allow you to type in your name, keep score, see the course and email your final scorecard.

My bag, compete with the few remaining clubs I had not broken or thrown, is in the water on the old north course by Spanish Fort Blvd.
Good times indeed.

I'm sure this comparison comes from TV jockeys.

Call me skeptical. Let me know when they host a US Open there.

A golf tournament in New Orleans, in June? Not gonna happen.

Same here. Typical overblown NOLA bullshite. They could easily have said it could be the future site of a PGA event, not a US Open.

I'm glad NOLA got a new course and I look forward to playing it this summer. But to compare it to these courses is a stretch. Just say it has the chance to be a good course in time and let it go at that.

Played it today. It's fantastic. Especially the back 9...every hole is great on that side.
A buddy of mine in my foursome has played Torrey Pines, and he said that if you isolated the golf courses, city park south is better than Torrey Pines South. The views of the Pacific Ocean obviously make Torrey more attractive than looking at Marconi Dr and Bayou St. John.
At this time, the course isn't incredibly difficult. In fact, I think the PGA Tour pros would score better there than at TPC Louisiana. The winner would probably be -20 if they played a regular tour event there this weekend. It's wide open and the greens are relatively flat. But that's the beauty of it. It's easy enough for the every day golfer, yet could be setup to host a professional championship. Great job by everyone involved. There's finally a legitimate golf course in the city of New Orleans.
