Jason Bohn a journeyman tour player with a couple of wins played at Alabama in the mid 90's. During his sophomore year he hit a $1 mil hole-in one during a charity event took the money on the spot and dropped his am status. It was a loophole that has since been closed but always though it was a crazy story.

What do you mean loophole? They just made it that you could remain amateur because the USGA finally realized how dumb it was to have a 25 handicap turn pro because he skulled a ball in for an ace.

I'm still amazed at the Ken Venturi story. He was leading The Masters as an amateur after 3 rounds. He shot a 78 the last day but still only lost be a shot or two.
