I played through that shite a couple weekends back. As long as I am prepared and there is no lightning, I will play in it. Being married with 3 youngins, I am not wasting any golfing opportunities that arise. We made the turn never going through much more than a sprinkle. While on the 10th green it started to pour. So we went back to the club house and waited for it to pass about 15-20 minutes. The went right back at it. It sprinkled / light rain a couple more times but hell, we were already wet anyway. Had a great time and shot a crappy score. Whatmore could you ask for?

Golf X in Lafayette. The simulator is reasonably accurate but more importantly- A/C and cold beer.

I'm a much worse player than I already am in the rain. Can't ever get a good grip.

Not to hijack but does anyone have any recs on some good rain golf gloves?

I've got these and the winter version. Great gloves, love them! I recently got some new grips though and don't play with a glove unless it is raining or very cold. I have sweaty hands but have found that a damp towel and wiping down the grips makes them plenty tacky with good grips. I get much better feel without gloves.

Rain is not much of a problem out here in the desert.

Out here the problem is constant wind @ about 20-25 mph with frequent gusts to 40 which seems to happen 3-4 days a week!

Playing in strong winds actually is kinda fun as long as you don't care much what you shoot!
But I gotta tell ya that high winds in 110 degree desert heat is kinda like being in a convection oven!

I walk on behind my boy P Word's house, a few houses down. We wait until the last group passes, and before the marshals come around to pick up the pins.

The rules are simple:

You are allowed to bring two clubs only.
You need 3 white cans.
You need Larry.
You are allowed to bring no more than two balls (preferably a pair of refurbs). In the event that you lose both balls, it's auto DFL.
It is a 4 hole DFLoff.
A par 4 we made a 3, and par 4 we just play as it it, a par 3, and the previous par 4 we played as ya haul arse back before a marshal shows up.

Loser buys the next case of beer.

Most times in South Louisiana you can get a round in unless it is 100% chance all day. You cannot trust the weather app in South Louisiana.
