1. (1) The C.C. of Louisiana, Baton Rouge
2. (2) Squire Creek C.C., Choudrant
3. (4) Oakbourne C.C., Lafayette
4. (3) The Bluffs On Thompson Creek, St. Francisville ?
5. (8) Koasati Pines G.C., Kinder ?
6. (5) TPC Louisiana (18th hole pictured above), Avondale ?
7. (New) Money Hill G. & C.C., Abita Springs
8. (7) Gray Plantation G.C., Lake Charles ?
9. (New) Contraband Bayou G.C., Lake Charles ?
10. (New) The C.C. At The Golden Nugget, Lake Charles ?

Which courses should have made the list and which are overrated? and which have/haven't you played?

I've played all but Money Hill and CCLA. Really want to play CCLA soon. I'd think that English Turn, Le Triomphe, U club should have made the list over the bottom 3 LC courses.

I play at Oakbourne a fair amount and really just not the biggest fan. It's a plodders course and the property is pretty small and therefore very packed together, it does have some of the best greens in the state though.

Only two on that list I've played are Squire Creek and Koasati Pines. KP is nice, but that is a huge drop off from #2 to #5.

I really want to get down to Fallen Oak at some point in the future.

Of the good courses in Mississippi I've played Waverly, CCJ, Reunion, Annondale, and Mossy Oak but I really want to see how FO compares with those. I've heard nothing but great things, obviously.

and to stay on topic of the OP when exactly were those Lake Charles courses built? My cousin worked on the development of one of them but the name escapes me at the moment.

Played this a few weeks / months back. This course does not deserve to be on this list unless I just happen to catch it at a bad time. Some of the greens had actual weeds growing through them, the rough and fairway were cut to almost the same length, and the tee boxes (even the par 5s and 4s) looked like a driving range after a tournament was played. They were all chewed up.

The Bluffs shouldn't be #4, layout is great but it needs some serious TLC

My favorite hole on the course even though the 2nd shot is nerve-racking.

How does Eastridge and Southern Trace stack up with these. I can't imagine they are not good enough.

I haven't played Squire Creek or Oakborne.

Money Hill should for sure be above TPC.

I've played CCL twice, and while very nice, I'm not sure it's the best course in Louisiana that I've played. I also thing The Bluff's is way overrated. Only played it once, but other than the elevation change, it don't think it's very special.

While a moot point now, La Tour never made this list and it was definitely better than TPC now matter how you slice it.

RIP in peace ole Tom Brady.

Not sure what Money Hill is doing following TPC. But, La Tour was neck and neck with MH. Pound for pound, the old course in Raceland was #1 in the state.

I've not played a lot in New Orleans, but are there no private courses that would make the list?

English Turn is really good. How is Metairie CC or Chateau or NOCC?

Also, Bluffs is a top five course if it's in good shape. But that is a big if.

TPC shouldn't make the list. Kosati Pines was nothing special or rememberable.

New Orleans Country Club is a fantastic course, I like it a lot more than Metairie CC.

I've never been a big fan of Chateau.

English Turn has always been great, been a long time since I have played it though.
