Zelda BotW's development staff exceeded 300 people

That's a big arse team. Feel sorry for Aonuma having to be the director over all that. When you consider that from an Indy to blockbuster AAA team is anywhere from 20-100 people on average, that's just massive. Just to give you perspective on how big of a staff that is, Wild Hunt's staff was right at about 240 people with most of them actually being of polish descent. However, this does not include outside contributions, which the Witcher totaled to about 1500+ people.


However, it's never said with either if the development staff includes voice actors and others that help with the game, but never actually work on the programming and such. I imagine the same applies though.


With that type of size, one can only hope the gameplay and story reflects it.

yup. but here's to hoping that many people will do a good job over analyzing and detailing out that massive world

I am still interested to see what side content they pack into the game world. Twilight Princess was pretty big at least for a Zelda title but there wasn't much to it.

I think they're counting everyone.

Plus, it's already been reported that they brought up a big chunk of the Monolithsoft/Xenoblade team near the end of production.

They are basically depending on this game to carry the sales of a brand new console day 1 so they needed to put a lot into it
