XBox 360 bundle opinions
Posted by Shreveporter on 12/6/11 at 7:58 am00
Looking to buy this for Christmas and give as a gift but will end up being used by the entire family, not just the recipient. Users will therefore range in age from small children to adults. With that in mind, need opinions on purchase options:
Can buy console and kinect separately, will cost the same in total. Advantage: each comes with either a free game and codes to download games free (kinect comes with Fruit Ninja and Gunstringer codes along with acutal Kinect Adventures game. Console comes with Halo: Reach download and Fable III disc)
Can buy "Holiday Bundle" which comes with Carnival Games download and Kinect Adventures disc. Upside of this is Best Buy currently has a deal where if you purchase this bundle, you also get a $75 gift card, which of course could be used to purchase more games.
I would assume that if all the games are great then going with the more-games-included option would be best but the only game in this group I'm familiar with at all is Halo (from the original Xbox) so I don't know how good any of these titles are. What makes the most sense to those who have this set up?

I got this one off microsofts website for $199 a few weeks back. Not sure if it's still available, but they had it at multiple stores as well.

that must have been the Black Friday deal. wish I had been decided that I was getting it then and taken advantage, price is now back up to $299 for console (same bundle you show) and $99 for kinect with the 3 games I listed. Prices are the same everywhere--Walmart, Target, Gamestop, Best Buy, Microsoft Store, Amazon. So, the only difference is if they are offering incentives like the gift cards. Only way to get the gift cards (both Best Buy and Target are offering) is to buy the console/kinect bundle with 250gb but then you only get the two games I listed and total cost is $399. So, what's better--the bundle with 2 games for $399 and a gift card incentive or buying the components separately for $399 and getting 5 games total but no gift card?
