Nothing I'm trying to do is currently working. Anyone/everyone else experiencing the same? I tested the connection and it said the trouble was on their end, not mine, buy didn't say what the issue was.

I decided to come here for answers as opposed to google/Xb.com

Just an issue from an overload of XB1s being turned on for the first time today or something else?

No, just your joy of your new Christmas toys.

This Xbox one is the worst. Nephew got one and can't even play a game without internet connection. Took 4 hours to finally get it set up with live going in and out. fricking playstation for the win.

PSN is down as well. And if it comes back before XBL it's because Sony negotiated with terrorists.

Yep, but even PSN was down for a little today.

But you're right Xbox One makes doing anything a pain in the arse. The UI is a major step down from the 360.

You don't absolutly have to have Internet for a kid to play a game though. You're still able to just stick a disk in and roll.

Calling DDOSers "hackers" is a bit generous.

Isn't that just for the original setup, not sure but that would be crazy if that isn't the case. I know PS4 is more plug in and play but I didn't know it was that bad.

Then again my PS4 and Xbone have been connected since day one so I really haven't had to deal with that situation. Also I don't play my Xbox nearly as much so I've never messed with it when Xbox Live is down, use it for HBO primarily at this point. Would be playing Halo but that was the shite show of the year.

Yes it is. You can pay Xbox offline if you want to.

He was trying to specifically play Forza Herizon 2 offline and it kept prompting to sign in and wouldn't let him play at all. Madden 14 is the only one that let us bypass logging in to play offline

ETA: he's only 10. if it wasn't for me being there and using a mobile hotspot the poor kid would've never been able to set it up and play. that's for the birds IMO

That does sound a little crazy, is Horizon online only? I thought it had a single player.

Some games are still online only. I think Forza relies on the cloud to some degree. That still doesn't mean the whole system is a failure because a few games are online only.

Both Xbox and PS just need to learn to mitigate DDoS attacks more effectively and I would bet after these past few months it is something they are both looking into.

Seriously, it's beginning to be a little ridiculous.
