A friend of mine told me about these games.

They are hardcore sandbox mmorpgs. Wurm has teraforming.

Anybody here every played either of them?

I'm an old school Ultima Online player, and I love that type of game.

Mortal Online is one of the worst games I've ever played.

I played wurm online for like 4 years, was really into it on the pvp server.

Worst community imaginable. Always bitching and crying to the devs to nerf things they lost to and buff their own abilities... And the dev would listen half the time if enough people bitched. The forums were basically a second game; people would mass report people in opposing factions if they just barely said something remotely questionable or "trolled", so they could get them banned and reduce opposing voices.

And it's run by yuros, so basically saying anything mean or disagreeing with people was " trolling".

The game itself isn't even that fun and is designed very poorly. You'll always get wrecked by accounts older than yours because of how hard it is to get skills- there's no real cap. Even if you turbo nerd, you're perpetually at a disadvantage. You'd have to buy an account to be top 50%.

If you play on the non-pvp servers, its somewhat tolerable but not worth the sub. If you simply must play, play the steam version, not the subscription version.

Overall, I don't recommend it and the game sucks dick.

Yes, I mad.

Nothing else to really play in that span, and I got invested in it and the people I was playing with before I realized just how shite it was. By the time I knew, it was too late.
