I need a try before I buy, frick $20 for an Alpha and a Beta.
I hated Minecraft and am not sure this is my type of game, guess I'll wait for official release, pirate it and if I like it buy it.

I wasnt big into minecraft either, but this is so much better with far more depth.

Yeah that's what I've heard.
I definitely think I'll buy it but I doubt I pay $20 just for an Alpha and Beta, how long are they supposed to last and does your character(s) carry over to the retail version?

Its basically a guy doing it in his basement so I'd imagine it'll be a long while before the official release.
$20 for alpha and beta is nothing really because the game is already very fun.

It's really only like Minecraft in it's graphical style, and even that has got enough originality to it to give it it's own feel.
The characters and creatures in the game are anime/jrpg influenced. Also, there are no textures on any of the geometry. Everything is simply shaded, giving the world a cartoon-y feel. Those sound like small differences but their impact is immediately evident when looking at a screenshot of Cube World vs Minecraft.
There are numerous previous posts on the gameplay differences, which are pretty vast, so I won't even touch on that.

At low levels I'd advise only attacking blue and white named creatures. Oranges if you have a potion handy can be done. Go back a few pages and read my beginner tips.

Seed 1 is good. I explored it the most. The ruins that are pretty close to town are good at low levels. Also the mountains directly south from town too.
