I wanted opinions about whether or not to buy the Wii for my kids. I just sold my Xbox 360, because I play more PC games, so I am trying to decide if Wii is worth it or just get them a PS3? Ages 11 and 4. I know the eldest would want the PS3, but I'm telling him PC games are better. Thanks for the input.

PC games are better if you don't mind upgrading your machine with the latest hardware on a monthly basis.

I have a wii and a 360. I lived with the wii for a long time, but I caved and got a 360 because of the lack of quality games. There is just so much shovelware to sift through.

Don't buy the Wii.

Save your money and buy the wife somthing nice for Mother's day. Our Wii is rarely played and when a 3 year old can bowl a 220 game on wii sports it shows that the games are so easy and it takes no skill.

I like using the Wii Fit, Tiger Woods 08, and MLB 2k8, but I'm still waiting for that one system-defining game. Mario Galaxy was pretty good, I guess.

It's ok. I really like the shooter games. Call of Duty: World at War is fun. You can play multiplayer which is pretty cool, especially after you have a few brews.

3 total: 16, 11, and 4. I am leaning towards the Wii, I just haven't played it and didn't want to throw a few hundred down the drain. If I can get a few years of use from the kids it would be worth it.

The wii just appeals to everyone in our house. My wife loves the wii fit. My daughter (5) plays it too along with a Disney princess game and a Dora game. Wii sports is pretty fun to play with a lot of people. Mario Party is also fun with a lot of people. It's kind of like a board game with mini games that you play with the remote. There was a Mario Party for the N64 back in the day.

I really like the old school games that you can purchase and download. I've bought every Mario and was surprised to find that my 5 year old likes to play the original Mario. I also downloaded Tetris Party, which I am addicted to. Sonic the Hedgehog will probably be my next purchase.

So, in my situation, the wii works out better for us. I really think a ps3 or 360 would just sit and collect dust.

I have a 360 and a wii.

I play the 360 for NCAA football/sports and shooting games, and the wii for wii sports, mario, and the old school game. super ghouls and ghosts? hell yes!

The wii doesn't have the best graphics and it won't play movies but anyone who comes over can pick up the remote and play the games. Guitar Hero and wii fit probably get played the most at my house.
