Why does the PS4 suck so bad?

So I just finally bought a ps4 a few weeks ago and the first day I got it I was having issues with it shutting off a few seconds after I turned it on. I got advice to unplug it for a while then plug it back in and do the hold the button reset thing. I fixed it that time.
I go to play it yesterday after not having turned it on for a week or so and it won't stay on. It turns off a few seconds after starting. I tried resetting it again and it did not work this time.
Does the PS4 just suck or am I an idiot who isn't doing something right?

Did you try turning it off and back on? Also, make sure the power cable is plugged in.

I had a similar issue with one of mine. I believe the problem came from unplugging the power cable while it was in rest mode.

In all seriousness, do you have a USB thumb drive? I would try a fresh full system reinstall before giving up and sending it in for a new one.

I upgraded to a 2TB hard drive last week and it took all of 15 minutes to download the full system shite and download it.

Have had mine since day of release and it has enough frequent flier miles on it traveling back and forth with me to Afghanistan for work that is has been around the world a few times over and still works the same as it did on day 1.
