And for those of you who game on a projector screen, what's your setup?

What is the use case for this?

Like, how close will you be? What is the scale?

I work on projectors every day...

Distance the projector will be from the screen?

How far are you going to sit from the screen?

What resolution are you wanting to play in?

What type of sound system do you want?

I'd piggyback off OP here and ask the same question.

Would place the projector in my garage and occasionally backyard sitting 8-10 feet back. Would primarily be used for watching football using my Apple TV and maybe a game system during some parties.

Do not need 3D or 4K. Simple 1080p is fine, but if there's a good deal on a "4K", that's fine too.

I bought this one and absolutely love gaming on it. I have played Rock Band, Call of Duty, and FIFA on it and it is quite the experience.

The screen is in my 2 car garage and I put the projector on 1 side and the screen on the other side. I think its about 100" wide.

For sound I have an Ion speaker hooked up to it. It does the trick just fine but surround sound would be better. Problem is with most Surround sound I found that the front speaker has a short wire so you'd have to do some DIY corrections.

I made my screen using this product and some 2x4's. I used thumb tacks to pin the screen to make sure it was pulled tight. Though to be honest, I used to just shine it onto my beige walls and it doesn't really look any different. I'd first try just putting it onto the wall. If it's permenant, you could even just paint the space where it goes onto the wall white.

I also added the LED lights around the screen that are really cool to go along with the ones on the ceiling.

At 8-10 feet away I dont think the 1080p vs 4k is gonna make any difference. The biggest different you'll see will be in the lumens and contrast. The one I have isnt even 1080 and honestly it looks great.

About 10-11 feet.

Probably about 8-9 feet.

Whatever resolution is crisp enough to see fine details on Battlefield, FIFA, and whatever other games I play (Fallout, RDR2, etc)

I haven't decided that yet. Nothing expensive. I don't have good acoustics in my house so the quality probably matters less.

I want something that doesn't give me a competitive disadvantage when playing online games, due to input lag.

I've got a BenQ mw633 that I've pumped out about 80,000 hours and still haven't had to change the lamp.

I run an HDMI cord to a switcher, have that run to the PS4 and fire TV and can hook the laptop up whenever I want.

I got this particular one because it has a built in speaker and a head phone jack. I run that directly into my sound system. If not I'd have to do some cord switching to get sound from various devices.

And it's freaking awesome. I just use a white wall, I looked up good paint to use, actually Sherwin Williams, painted my wall. And I have a perfect 120+ in TV for under $500.

I went this route because of the stuff I already owned and when I found out it would be fine just on the wall I never looked back. And I just laugh when other friends spend 2 or 3 times as much on their TV's, yet they always want to come to my place to play FIFA, watch walking dead or game of thrones.
