Uncharted (which is after 4),

2. they're not churning them out on an assembly line
3. they're straight forward action filled adventures
it's not exactly call of duty, nor is the brand over saturated. It does desperately need some updating to the gameplay (which it appears they've done in the splooge worthy demo)
they are ending it though, but it doesn't NEED to end. It just happens to be a good time. :wah" I'm going to miss it.
my vote is for assassin's creed, call of duty, halo, battlefield, final fantasy (this game needs to go back to the basics or just die)
MARIO!?! if I could strangle you through the computer screen.

I don't think it needs to end forever, but Naughty Dog deserves a break from the series and Drake does too. As I said, I can't think of anything that needs to end forever, but go on a hiatus. Mario falls into that. I feel like Nintendo could do to be more fresh and possible challenge themselves by making a new IP to challenge Mario rather than another Mario.

oh, I would like naughty dog to start doing other things
There is so much left in the Last of Us to explore
it could be 100 years after the outbreak, 6 months
there are so many places (England?)
so many other characters and stories worth telling
I do not want to see joel or ellie, even in passing. their story is over. I also do not want to see anything referenced in the last of us (fall of Pittsburgh, but I imagine the fireflies are a big enough entity you could do something there)
or I'd like to see naughty dog do something entirely new

It's a matter of opinion, but they were all universally praised

Yep. That's kinda where I was going with it. That's a lot of talent stuck with those IPs. It wouldn't be so bad if they were truly different from the next, but sometimes you just need something a little different.

Mario has been in over 200 video games. If you think they're going to take a break from him, then you have another thing coming. I don't see why they should, since it's been over 5 years since we've gotten a Mario Galaxy title. I'm guessing the next one will be called Super Mario Universe.

But as popular as Frozen is, it's never going to challenge Mickey Mouse.

Half Life. It needs a proper ending.

Uncharted is closer to a TellTale game than action adventure game IMO. You play it for the cutscenes and story but the actual gameplay is lacking and monotonous.
I don't think any game series NEEDS to end. The market is big enough that everyone has a choice and fans can vote with their wallets. I do think some would benefit from longer development cycles and relying less on DLC.

I don't they'll actually do it, it's too profitable. There's been two 3D Marios since Galaxy though.

Nintendo hasn't made a popular new IP since Brain Age and Nintendogs. For consoles, Pikmin (which is a stretch to attach the popular label). While nothing will ever dethrone Mario, that doesn't mean they can't get something to rival it. I think it'd improve the overall quality of their offerings.

I can see some people playing it like that. I do love the cut scenes because they move the plot forward, but I enjoy being in the element. It's vicarious entertainment. It's exciting shooting down a missile shooting helicopter from a tank on a train it's fun to creep through some ruin or tomb and not knowing what's in store
The only time I ever fit the "just get me to the damn cut scene" mold was the desert shootout right before the lost city, and that had more to do with being able to finally see it and being killed 500 times in that battle

I'd love if they got their paws on Sonic, specifically Retro Studios. They could do a lot with Sonic's speedy concept.

Would love to see their take on it. Not sure what would stop Sega and Nintendo from collaborating on a serious title. You see smaller developers pooling resources and people together often to make something, so it'd be interesting to see what they could do if they worked together.

Sonic Boom was developed in partnership with nintendo, yes? It's god awful.

Assassins creed and COD definitely. Halo too honestly.
Most franchises that pump out shite annually or semiannually need to take a break and refocus and let some new ideas proliferate.
