Change ram to 2x4 not 1x8, remove Windows 8.1 and torrent it or 10, use that $80 for an SSD.

Most motherboards run RAM in dual configuration, so dual channel ram is twice the memory bandwidth over single channel = more performance.

Get an intel 4690k. Especially for H1Z1

H1Z1 is poorly optimized like most early access games, and with his board choice he isn't going to be OCing so a 4690K isn't worth it, he'll benefit more from an SSD with that extra $80.

It doesn't affect gaming, but yeah, no reason not to use dual channel, just like I'd go quad-channel on X99 even though it doesn't matter.

Could I add an SSD later or do I need it on first startup? I'm just going to buy windows don't want to risk getting a virus/bugs on a brand new PC.

I mean, pretty much all of us on here just torrent windows, you'll be fine. Can use the one we use. I'll find it and you can either burn it, or put it on a flash drive to install, and if you're really that worried, after boot up just launch the Windows 10 installer and install factory new OEM Windows 10 for free.
You could actually just install Windows 10 and use one of the many free keys online and there ya go. this has all you should need for Win10 OEM install
I wouldn't build a PC today without an SSD. I also wouldn't pay for Windows when 10 is a free upgrade, worst case you just use the torrent to get the free upgrade to genuine Win10.

So when you go to do the free windows 10 upgrade it just gives you a key? So I could download windows 10 on my new PC and get the key using my old laptop with windows 7?

I believe that you have to install 7 first and get it activated. Update to Windows 10, then if you want, you can do a clean install of 10.

Windows 10 is a free upgrade the first year if you have an activated version of Windows 7/8/8.1.
So all of us that had a torrented version also got it for free as it doesn't detect anything other than if it's activated, in which the torrents are pre-activated. So you don't use or need a key to upgrade.

Thankfully newegg is a POS and decided to ship my pre ordered copy of 10 snail mail from CA to NC, so it hasn't even got here yet. if this d/l of 10 works if def returning it.
