I'm not so sure. It's going to take more than just power for them. A lot of it is branding and they just don't associate themselves well with 3rd part gaming.

What? While I do enjoy enjoy Nintendo's. I rather the exclusives from Sony and Microsoft.

Same here. The quality is there. I thought Mario Kart was great but I grew tired of it fast.

Exactly. Take Sony for example.
I would take Last of us, Bloodborne over Mario Kart, Smash, Mario 3DWorld any day of the week.
Does not mean I don't like the Wii U exclusives. I enjoy them a lot.

And then if you take into account the games that are exclusive to Xbox and PS4 over Wii U. It isn't really a contest.

I think a more accurate statement is that Nintendo's exclusives have the highest market appeal and therefore sales potential. A lot of reliance on casual fans to push them any higher than Halo, Gears, or Uncharted.

That's what I mean by valuable. But it's not just casual fans. Just think about how many people have either an xbox or playstation AND a Nintendo device just because of the handful of first party games they like. I don't know nearly as many people who have an xbox AND a playstation because I don't think either of their exclusives are console sellers. If I could have a system that had the power to run all the big multi platformers, had a good UI, and I could pick to have the exclusives from one of the big three, I'm going Nintendo every time. Halo and uncharted are great but you can get similar experiences with the multi platformers. But nothing can replace smash, kart, Mario, zelda, metroid, etc.

Meh. You do realize that the console was released in 2012 and it only has sold 9.5 mil worldwide. So obviously that isn't a lot of people
I do not know one person with a Wii U (besides me), I have multiple friends with both an Xbone and PS4

I don't know anyone with any of the new systems. My friends suck.

I know several people, including myself, who only have a PS4 for MLB the Show and play a majority of their games on Xbox One. I actually know way more people who have both a PS4 and an Xbox One than have a Wii U.

Also, I don't know if it has been mentioned yet but I hope the new Nintendo has 1 non-gimmicky controller that comes with the system. So sick of having to by additional controllers to actually play games.
(I don't need motion, screens on my controller, or VR)

Yep. I never had gamer friends either. That doesn't help.

I was including the 3DS when I said a Nintendo device btw. But maybe I just happen to have a lot of friends who love Nintendo games

IM just disapointed that there is not longer a Techtv, Xplay, or Attack of the Show to take us there.
I hate having to wait on their live streams and then sift through the links when I get off work for the highlights.

Nintendo.
Can't believe we didn't get a Wii U Metroid.

Since when do you need to buy an additional controller to play WiiU games? The game pad works perfectly fine w/everything I own.

Clearly he doesn't like playing games with it. I don't blame him, I don't either.

I dont really see the problem with it.
it holds comfortably in my hands, isnt too heavy, and off tv play is the bizzy bomb

Multiple reasons for this. Nintendo tends to be stubborn and likes things done their way. This can make it difficult for third parties to develop for them.
Another big reason is that it is probably a pain to port multiplats because their is power gap in the hardware for PS4/Xbone and WiiU.
Then there is the terrible cycle of multiplats not selling on Nintendo consoles because Nintendo consoles don't sell that well to "hardcore" gamers which just snowballs on itself. I think closing the power gap will make the console a lot more appealing to consumers and 3rd party developers, which should alleviate this problem.
