Not it doesn't. It is on par with what we expected.

Have you watched even reviews? FYI we can replecate those games pretty close on hardware. The same SoC in the Switch is available for retail.

Please search YouTube of the comparisons. Its decent but no where near "better than we expected". It is making toons of sacrifices.

My expectations were basic PS3. It's clearly better than that. A lot of articles were saying it was a handheld Wii U

I should probably change the title to MY expectations because I don't understand anything technical

Jesus you have low expectations.

PS3 released in 2006? We are now in 2017. 11yrs.

It should be right below the consoles released just 2-3yrs before it. This was not the case. Its a handheld first yes but they also market it as a console solution which I have an issue.

I love my Switch. It is awesome. Just the AAA 3rd party games coming to it are making a ton of sacrifices that why waste your time on that version and get it on PC or PS4/XBONE.

It's handheld and graphics are lower on my checklist than most. To be honest I saw gameplay of horizon and while it was the best looking game I've ever seen it no shite made me kind of queasy

I can never play traditional console again

If south park isn't announced for switch I'll probably dust off the PS4 some time in the next couple of years. I would dust it off in October but...mario

I think people underestimate the portability factor. Not having to be stuck in my office and being able to sit on the couch or lay in bed and play is fantastic. I've said in another thread if Destiny came out on the Switch I'd play on that over PS4 in a heartbeat. Running strikes and knocking out milestones on the go or around the house would be fantastic.

Graphics are overrated in this day and age. Metroid Prime still looks great, and that was made in 2002.

Gameplay > Graphics

Always.

But.. don't come here with graphics better than we expected because they are not.

I don't like it for some type of games. Esp a FPS.

Zelda it works perfectly but not a FPS like DOOM. We will see though.

Mario Odyssey looks like a game I will be playing for a few months. Can not wait any longer.

Easy killer. I've been impressed with the graphics on the switch. I had very low expectations but they've certainly been surpassed. The portability is awesome as well.

On what titles?

Besides Zelda.

Honestly Zelda doesn't look that good to me, Mario Kart on the other hand...

Mariokart
Splatoon 2
Arms
Mario + Rabbids
Pokken Tournament
Super Mario Odyssey

Pretty solid first year IMO.

I got one for my son (7yrs old) with splatoon for Christmas. It is sitting in my closet and it is killing me not to have it out and play it. So glad to see the third party support coming online for it.

Son played through entire single player campaign on the first Splatoon game and beat the boss. I watched him as a 7 year old beat the boss and was such a proud parent .

He is constantly talking about the switch and watches youtube videos about it and the games.

He told me yesterday "Dad, if I get a switch from Santa, it will be able to play games all the way to Laffeyette!"

I agree with the idea that they were about as expected. You forget that...

quote:

wolfenstein 2 and doom were announced. GTAv is heavily rumored to be released. Skyrim special edition coming out soon. 2k18 looks impressive

Many of these make it on to tablets and phones in some forms.

I think the bigger surprise.....maybe not a surprise generally speaking, is how quickly indies and Bethesda have picked up on it. 18 games released this week.

That's huge moving forward. Combined with the Doom/Wolfenstein announcement and things are trending very positively up.

Heck, I'd probably repurchase Doom and LA Noire when they release, and I'm in on Wolfenstein. I'll have more games for the Switch in 9 months than I have on any system since the PS2.

Again, you guys over hype this as a game changer with every game.

Case in point.
