Started up a franchise and played two games. Traded for all the LSU players in the majors and minors and signed/traded for a few others. Still not a great team, but improvements for the Astros have already begun.

Played two games. Won the first 1-0 and lost the second 3-1. Playing on all-star hitting and pitching. Playing with the pitch count thing both games and really like it.

I can't hit worth a shite and when I get people on I struggling controlling my runners and end up with base running errors.

What hitting settings do you play on? Do you adjust sliders?

I've played the show before but 90% of my time was in RTTS as a pitcher, so my hitting is bad.

In previous editions I always messed with sliders, haven't played this one enough yet to make a judgment

major complaint #1 - The god awful loading times. Maybe it was because the dedicated servers were overloaded for release, but jesus it took a considerable amount of time for anything to load.

Major complaint #2 - I beat the Seattle Mariners 3-1 on a go ahead HR in the bottom of the 6th inning in Diamond Dynasty only to have the the game counted, but none of the stats recorded. This includes having all of my MLB players lose 1 game on their contracts

As I posted before

The detail is awesome, the player mechanics leave some to be desired to me though.

Have players doing flips etc, hitting head on the ground, baseball cap stays on.

Pitcher just got hit in the head on a liner hit back to him, just kind of plops off and drops him.

Throw to the plate, as soon as the ball hits the catchers glove the tag is applied, zero delay in between.

I didn't play online at all and my load times were still forever too.

What the hell is a diamond dynasty?

Overall I am going to enjoy the shite out of the game.

Anyone with some experience in franchise mode want to give me some tips on how to run the franchise? How much effort do I have to put into scouting (it doesn't seem user friendly at first glance). How much do players in the minors progress? How much do your young guys progress that are already on the mlb roster? Gausman is my #3 starter and Ranaudo is my #5, I want these guys to be studs.

I have the same question for training, so many different options it's overwhelming since I don't know what I am doing.

The god awful loading times

That's the first thing I noticed. I thought the game froze up at first.

I'm awful at controlling the ball when pitching. Any advice, I'm using pulse control.

I'm having no issues pitching, but of course that's the part of the game I'm most comfortable with. I gave up all my runs off of HRs though. I also scored my 2 runs off of HRs. I can't string together the hits to score, and when I do a base running error usually kills my inning.

I think the key to hitting is not swinging at balls. A high fast ball and a change up in the dirt get me every time though. I try to take a patient approach, but it's so damn hard to sit on some of those pitches.

Diamond Dynasty is MLB The Show's version of My Team, or Ultimate Team. The thing I love about Diamond Dynasty is that it has fully customizable computer generated players. You obviously can't edit their ratings, but you can edit just about everything else. So if you wanted to create some type of All-Time team, you could take the time out and edit the random players to look like the past greats.

Those randomly generated players will also have a ton more games in their game bank as opposed to the MLB players. Your MLB players will only have 10 game contracts, whereas the generated players will have anywhere from 30-40. You are supposed to use your "budget" (currency for Diamond Dynasty) to train the generated players. Each player has an overall and an aptitude rating. The higher the aptitude the easier and less it will cost to train them.

You can also use your budget to purchase more generated players, or MLB players. The really cool thing is even if you aren't playing your games, you will still earn budget points in a newly introduced "extra innings" mode within Diamond Dynasty. Basically, once you create your team and you go offline, your team is able to be played against by another person. These games will not count against your game totals, but it will still allow you to earn budget points.

I'll post pictures of my uniforms, but I am the Georgia Bulldogs (Home uniforms are on point, but I don't know how to do letter outlining in the uniform editor). That's another thing you can do as well. If you are great with any type of logo creator, you can make some pretty sick uniforms in the game.

Yeah... I'm quite the free swinger. Low breaking balls, especially change ups, seem to always get me. Back when I played I was much more selective.

honestly, just taking pitches. Even if the first pitch is straight down the pipe as a 4 seam fastball, you should always attempt to take a few pitches. if you are in the 6th inning and the opposing pitcher has 50-60 pitches, you are doing it wrong. By the 6th inning, the opposing pitcher (especially if it's CPU) should be in the 80's.

Another key to hitting is knowing when to suck up your pride and start hitting for contact instead of going for the big fly. When you are behind in the count, don't be afraid to use the contact swing. Not only will you be more able to make contact, when using the contact swing it makes it easier to check your swing.

it took me a min to figure out that the controls for fielding and throwing to bases are reversed in RTTS. i have a SS that i started and i kept throwing to home instead of converting double plays.

Can anyone break down the franchise? Scouting, player profession, etc.

Pure analog hitting is very touchy!!! I'm a free swinger as well that is trying to be patient, but it seems like if I move the analog bend a tad up or to the side my guy is swinging

One of the gripes I read was that it isn't that visually different from the PS3 version.

I think that just might be what to expect when the same games will be crossing generations. Then again, I can tell you for certain because I don't have my copy yet.
