Then there are games for that. There are plenty of games that can tell a story and just do that. But the games I mentioned are probably the most played multiplayer FPS games on the console market. There is no reason for a campaign. In fact, I would be okay if they poured more content onto the disc as purely MP, then let you DL a campaign for $10 if you really wanted to.

:JIMP: shut up and take my money

The Division is inspired by Operation Dark Winter and Directive 51, real-world events which "revealed how vulnerable we've become"; society has become "fragile" and "complex". In the game, a disease that spreads on Black Friday causes the United States to collapse in 5 days.[2] The player is part of an unconfirmed group that was established to combat the threat and do whatever it takes to "save what remains" in a massive multiplayer online situation, putting them against friends, AI and other players.

I think you could replace campaigns with something like COD did with the COOP missions. Seems like it would be a lot less burdening on the developers, but you could still get a sense of story as context for the MP.

I agree that for the latest military FPSs, the campaigns seem very "tacked on" and IMO aren't necessary.

This game looks pretty awesome. Footage at E3 was off the chain.

The whole still being able to interact with your iPad or computer when you're not actually playing is sweet

Ubisoft has already gone down the DRM train with Uplay on PC. They reversed some of it due to backlash but people are naive to think the big publishers like EA and Ubisoft have just given up on it. They will find a way to get everyone on board with it.

Uplay just doesn't bother me like it does others. Steam is my preference but it doesn't hurt my game play experience.

Seriously? Uplay is the worst platform out there. Way worse than Origin has ever thought about being.

I also hate having to log into Uplay through Steam if I bought one of their games on Steam just for their DRM. It's cumbersome and has given me issues in the past.

Are you saying that because you don't play online multiplayer?

Everything I have on uplay is just on uplay. All I have done is play AC on there but I just logged in like normal and played.

And it might be. That's fine with me. What else can they do to it but build on their success and support it? There is room for another game. And from some of the things I've read, DICE is shaking up some of the class abilities and customization to give even more flexibility to the players. It seems like something Battlefield fans will appreciate.

But, this isn't a BF thread...
