If anyone is looking for a switch, College Dr Walmart had 2 or 3 blue red ones in stock earlier around 8pm.

They aren't under producing. They use some of the same parts as the iPhone.

They are pumping out as much as possible but the chip makers can't keep up. They have already almost 10 million targeted.

Amazon has been doing a good job of keeping them in stock of late for all still looking. I got one for my daughter a few weeks back. It's collecting dust already. :(

Switch sells are at 4.7 mil as of June 30th.
Where the heck are you getting this 10 million number from?

Which parts?

Edt: I wanted to respond to your reply but just FYI. All flash memory have shortage issues. Reason we see fckking RAM prices up nearly 150% and SSDs prices rising from 0.30/GB to around 0.40/GB.

Apple to blame for Nintendo Switch shortages.

LINK

quote:

Nintendo is experiencing Switch shortages due to low supply of critical components, like memory chips that store data and liquid-crystal displays, which Apple is gobbling up for its own products, The Wall Street Journal is reporting, citing sources who claim to have knowledge of the problem. Those sources told the Journal that strong consumer demand for Apple's existing iPhone 7 line of devices, as well as work on upcoming handsets from the technology giant, leave little supply for other companies, like Nintendo.

quote:

The WSJ reports that the games company has limited its sales target for the year to 10M, though it really wants to make double that. Nintendo has told suppliers and assemblers it hopes to make nearly 20 million units of the Switch device in the year ending March 2018, people involved in the discussions said. Though the company’s official sales target for the year is 10 million, strong demand suggests it can sell many more—if it can make them. The problem is an industrywide capacity shortage for components used in smartphones, computer servers and other digital devices. These include the NAND flash-memory chips that store data, liquid-crystal displays and the tiny motors that enable the Switch’s hand-held controllers to imitate the feel of an ice cube shaking in a glass.

I was all up in the switch hype then realized I could by Zelda for Wii U. Any real reason for me to jump on it at this point? I see they have fifa 18 coming out in about 2 months. But I've got an xbox one and ps4 for that. Understand it will be limited on the switch.

I know but this is a little click bait article.

We have a flash shortage across all different types for almost all of 2017.

Mario Odyssey looks like an acid trip.

Acid is cool.

Why is it that Nintendo seems to be the only ones that consistently have this problem?
