Going back and playing some classics that I missed the first time, just finished shadow of the colossus which was amazing and starting up Bioshock.

Goddamn this game might have the best atmosphere I've ever seen. My wife snuck up behind and asked me something and I literally jumped out of my chair from being startled, the game had me sucked in.

Anybody got any good memories from this one? I normally hate fps's but this is on a different level.

I've been back deep in the borderlands series. Really looking forward to 3, never picked up bioshock. Always plan to, wanting to upgrade my tv to 4k first before getting any new games. Wanting to get that out of the way.

Awesome, awesome game. If you enjoy that one, try F.E.A.R. as well. Probably the scariest game I've ever played, excepting maybe Outlast. Also try Prey.

It's intense. Do these other games have the philosophical undertones? Bioshock is pretty on the nose with it, but it does add an awesome extra layer to the experience.

The one big negative against Bioshock is that the best weapon by far is the wrench. I played through it twice and did very little shooting.

F.E.A.R. and Outlast are both more of a really fricking scary ghost story than a philosophical discussion. I'm still working through Prey since it's a recent release, but it has a lot more philosophy in it.

Bioshock and Prey were both made by past members of Looking Glass Studios, which made a little game called System Shock 2, which is, in my opinion, the greatest video game ever made.

I also played bioshock late. Way after it was cool. Loved it. Start to finish. You won't be disappointed.

Bioshock was soooo good in so many ways. The best part for you, my friend, is that Bioshock Infinite is even better.

Wat?

I rarely used the wrench. I loved hacking the security cameras and throwing the plasmid on the Big Daddies that made the security cameras call in the machine gun helicopters to kill the Big Daddies.

Infinite has the goat story, but the battles were shite imo.

Big Daddies and bosses are the only times I used guns. With Big Daddies, I just used the electric trip wire bolts with the crossbow, set up 4 or 5 them in a hallway and get the Big Daddy to run through it. Very easy kill. I also rarely used plasmids.

One of my favorite games ever. Definitely not in my genre wheelhouse but I couldn't stop once I started it.

After you finish the whole thing, would you kindly give us a full review?

Bioshock has the best plot twist in any game I've played personally.

This is incorrect.

Rapture > Columbia
Bioshock 1 > Infinite

Infinite is good, but 1 is the bar.

Bioshock is one of my all time favorites, such an original game.

Bioshock 2 had pretty interesting multi-player. I doubt its still active, but I stayed up a lot of nights playing multi-player.

I had hoped for more out of the MP. It had a very tacked on feel and did not look all that good either. The dev team for Bioshock 2 really did the series a disservice. It wasn't bad, but it had big shoes to fill and just couldn't pull it off. The MP resources could have been used to make the SP better, or perhaps it should have been a Bioshock 1 add on and focused on the MP.

Hee hee, I get that now.

So I was banned when I beat it, but it was a great game just not for me. It was beautiful to look at with a great story and about as good as an fps can get for someone like me. I just don't get into first person shooters, so yeah it was as good as that kind of game can be. Two thumbs up, mostly for atmosphere and story.

If you like Bioshock you may want to also check out the Dishonored series and Soma. Soma in particular reminded me of Bioshock and not just because they both take place underwater but because they both gripped me by the story and atmosphere. Its my favorite game I played this year.
