While talking with the founder of the company Jeff Strain, he made it abundantly clear that the XBLA game just screams for multiplayer and they want it in there just as bad as we do. That could mean their ability to add it in later will depend on the success of the initial launch. So the hardcore fans of this game who actually read this should realize that they have until June now to get people excited.

Thanks for that link, Anti. I was already getting this but now I'm pretty pumped.

quote:

I can’t tell you the last game I played that was open world and didn’t involve me killing hookers or beating people up with a dildo bat.

apparently the author hasn't played RDR or Skyrim

quote:

5. FATE EVENTS

One of the features that we really didn’t get to dig enough into was also one of my favorite. Fate events are essentially random events. These random events are affected by your management tactics.

We were given a pretty harmless example that could escalate rather quickly. Let’s say a portion of your food goes bad:

A) If you have someone in your group who is an experienced cook he/she could point out that this food is bad and then throw it away. Sure you lost some food supply, but it was for the best.

B) Now, let’s say you don’t have an experienced cook. One of your survivors doesn’t notice something went bad, they cook the food, and serve it. A few of your survivors come down with food poisoning, making them sick and possibly causing some anger from them. What if you don’t have an infirmary set up with a doctor/surgeon? These people could get sicker, morale can take a major blow, and you could find chaos in your camp pretty quickly.

Realize that situation is just if a few potatoes go bad, can you imagine having people with serious injuries and no doctor? You could find yourself in some sticky situations pretty quickly

This is pretty awesome. Not many games force you to think critically about consequences and then make good on the promise of said consequences.

Dammit...the more I read of this the more I want to play it now. Now I have a long weekend of playing games that aren't this.

yeah it sounds cool as shite.

we could always party up an play separately.

BTW I beat dead island 2 last night. Horrible ending and made me regret every nickel of my 60 bucks.

I was looking forward to DI2 initially but the more I read about it, the more I figured I'd wait till the price dropped and give it a play.

Every one of the 9 items listed as a reason to love SoD made me look forward to it that much more. I might even put in some time on Walking Dead this weekend and make different decisions from my first play thru.

Now if I only had a PS3 for The Last of Us this would be a pretty good apocolypse driven video game year

yeh, i'm really pumped. i think i'll get a lot of hours out of this game. i get bored quickly with the hack/slash/shoot from Point A to Point B type games.

most certainly will be happening.

i wish they would go ahead and give us a release date. hopefully earlier in June rather than later in the month.

after about 12 hours put into DI2, I was burnt out. Same as DI1, just different storyline.
but we all knew the writers weren't capable of delivering a quality story arch and ending from the DI1

Did you see the quote about finite supplies and shite?
If you wreck your car it is done....forever. Not only that but the wreckage stays there as a constant reminder of your folly. If you scavenge a building it doesnt miraculously have food there again.
Some buildings will already be scavenged to give the illusion that someone was there before you.

This.

I think it would be pretty cool to be in a party with others playing and hear what they are doing and what effect their decisions have. 4 different people playing, 4 different paths/outcomes. Maybe share some tips and tricks. And get a good laugh at epic failures.

They also mentioned you could build a fleet at your compound if you successfully get enough cars lined up.

2.5 years in the making, but a engine like that is worth every second. I'm really surprised this game isn't getting more pub.

i wish there were more gameplay videos.

i would want that more if there was a multiplayer, but as it stands now as a single player game, it's not something i'm disappointed by.

I don't really enjoy zombie games without multiplayer. I like the idea that someone has my back. Its an experience that should be shared.

You may want to start a habit of reading links and shite THE Eric.

quote:

2. ALLIES ARE NOT USELESS This recent trend of making NPC allies valuable, has been a blessing. Having to help, ask for help, or even the dreaded escort is not an issue in State of Decay. Your allies can hold their own, and I actually found them saving me more than anything. When one of my boys would grab zombies for me from behind and let me chop their heads off I was sold. At one point I had two allies with me for a mission and it had some great similarities of early episodes of the Walking Dead.

i wonder if you can go to sleep at night time to fast forward til day.

i know i'm a pussy for saying this, but i always do so in Minecraft, so i'll definitely want to do this for a zombie game.

Well my guess is that you will have no choice but to "rest" your character and play as someone else no matter what the time of day is. I would like it to be more realistic and be as close to real time as possible. Night time sneak missions in a zombie wasteland would be awesome!
