If they were going to do that, they'd just grant everybody access to the beta today or allow you access as soon as you pre-order the game and not have you wait days for a code to come to your email.
My guess is they knew their support was going to be swamped, so they set up some kind of auto-response for a particular support case reason. It's probably not that big of a deal to them that people are using it who haven't pre-ordered.

I got to a screen that asked me to chat or get a call, didn't see anywhere to fill out a form or enter an email? (Trying for PS4)

I did invalid code. Then it prompted to me to login. I believe you need to log out prior to trying.
