Can I bookmark this thread when a PS4 game is 900p 20-25 fps on the original PS4 and 1080p 30 FPS on NEO?

Assuming this thing takes off (I have my doubts), I wouldn't be surprised to see devs trying to suck every last bit of power from the thing. Don't just assume it will be business as usual on PS4 with NEO giving you 1080p 60 fps on all future titles.

As a recent PS4 buyer, someone please form my opinion on this for me.

Even if that happens, you don't know that will be because they couldn't put the game in 1080p on the original console. It may just be because of hardware limitations on the original PS4.

You see my point now though? At some point, PS4 owners may feel forced to upgrade in order to get an enjoyable experience out of a certain game because the game was not made with the constraints of the original hardware in mind.

True, so I wonder if Sony would offer incentive for developers to make the NEO version better. If so, capping the FPS would definitely be the easiest thing to do to differentiate.

Possible but I really doubt it, it would have to be a pretty big incentive for this to happen and it would have to be a console exclusive. Because to cap the normal mode would be to cap the Xbone.

I doubt this is the plan. We would never know anyways.

If that is the case then perhaps it is the right move. Do we want hardware holding back the industry? An argument can be made that this stops that from happening or at least limits it.

@notaxation
A trusted source tells me most developers are not happy with PS4.5, and having to develop around it. Extra cost, planning, other nonsense.

Even the exclusives struggle as the system is just underpowered.

It isn't like the PS3 where initial multiplats titles ran like garbage, but then you had beautiful exclusives like Uncharted 2 running smooth as butter.

wut

Xbox One's exclusives have been far and away the best looking games on the system, some looking even better than things that have been pumped on the PS4 so far.

Assuming his source is representative of the whole, that is the most alarming part of all this.

Asking gamers to upgrade not even 3 full years into the console's lifecycle?

This statement also ignores exclusives like Last of Us that chugged a lot.

You don't have to. This is an option.

Are the leaked specs legit? It's kinda surprising to see so many taking it all as fact as there hasn't been any announcements so far. The leaked specs look like a very small upgrade, so I don't know how much of a different it'll actually make.

This shite should of been the ps4 and the other Xbone.

They stuck it up console users arse, with the so called,"Next Gen" pieces of shits, and now want u to buy an actual Next gen console?

frick both companies, they pushed their garbage out, when they should of waited, and this should of been their first next gen consoles.

Who cares.. never again should we allow hardware to hold the industry back like last gen.

They can be pissed, the days of 6-8 year console cycles are a thing of the past. Plenty have already talked about limitations on current consoles as well so it's not like everyone holds the same opinion. Developers are probably just upset they have to work on one more version now.
