FACT... The more people that have it in their hands, the more the money the developers will put towards developing for it.
False - (See the Nintendo Wii, Microsoft Kinect and PS Move).

Nintendo doesn't entice third-party developers so nothing major happened with the controls.

No widespread adoption means developers can only use them for small things. This will not be the case with Kinect 2.0

Again, because no one wanted/wants them. Motion gaming was DOA.

I overlooked how ridiculous this looks

That's not it FYI, that's from like 2010.
And it still looks better than the one developed for PC that has started this VR movement I posted in OP.

Chicken and the egg again.
People don't want them because there were no good apps, but developers wouldn't develop good apps because no one had them.
Everyone will have the Kinect

No one wants it though so...they get the PS4 for $100 cheaper.
It will force M$ so inevitably release a Kinect-less XB1 by around Mid 2014 with the large lead PS4 is taking already, and these are the hardcore gamers preordering.
Your casual gamer will even moreso pick PS4 for the price.

I want it.
Your argument is now ruined.

I take it that you've never played Kinect Star Wars or Kinect Sports.
Those games are fun.

What could be more enticing than a 100 million unit install base?

Kinect sold 20-25 million units. That's about as much as the N64, Xbox and GameCube. That's a pretty damn good install base for an accessory.

Devs will still only use it for small things. Why do you think that is going to change just because it ships with every consoles? What incentive is there to make a game that requires Kinect?

Why would anyone care about how something that will never leave their house looks? You're not going to wear the damn thing to troll for fat bitches at the walmarks.

The Wii had horribly under powered hardware, and that is hat caused the lack of 3rd party support.

I disagree, but who cares what it looks like? I'm excited for the one that's got countless reaction videos on Youtube of people actually trying it out and being blown away.
If Sony shows something soon that people can try and it works well, I'll be interested in their device. In the meantime, I'm pumped for the Rift.
An example in case anyone hasn't seen it.

So not only could a dev reach a larger audience, they could do it with much lower production costs?

They should be giving a pretty detailed reveal.
It's going to be shown for the game Drive Club looking around in the cock pit and out the windows, etc.

Since when does under powered = less development time and cost ?
The Wii could have been an absolute bitch to program for for all we know.
