Something is up with his head, it's too low on his torso, like a bad photoshop.

A Boy and His Blob. The blob follows you around, you feed him jellybeans and he turns into different objects to help you advance in the game. It's a cool concept. Should we show the blob and one of his many forms? Nah, let's just leave it blank and rip off the Indiana Jones font style.

I seriously thought the protagonist in this game was a high school cheerleader

If you have to put the title in clearer print just underneath it, perhaps that's not a good font style

Aww yeah 80s hair

Aww yeah 80s gayness

Speaking of 80s gayness, here's shirtless Fabio

And hot pink snowboarding

And finally this one just seems to have everything

There are many many more weird, funny, interesting carts from the past. Stay tuned for more coming soon if I feel like it.

How about the classic, US Mega Man 1 box art:

The PAL box art, however, is awesome.

That's on the cart too. He has a gun and looks like an old man. WTF

Another one where the protagonist looks like an over-the-hill FORMER action star

its a little off topic since its for a different system and box art instead of cart art but look at how lazy they sometimes got with Master System box art.

The one I always think of was a scrolling shooter for the SNES called Phalanx. They put an old dude playing a banjo on the cover for some reason.

I'm playing this tonight. One of the most underrated platformers on the system. Basically Mega Man with a Native American. Not sure if it could get made today, it's politically incorrect

Just watched some gameplay. The Scared Forest boss is totally Wood Man from Mega Man 2

There are six over world stages arranged in a circle you can play in any order. Each boss you kill gets you a new power up you can switch out at any time. In the final stages you have to use these powerups to advance.

So yeah, they completely ripped off Mega Man. But, they ripped off the good level design and good controls too. So it's good.

ETA: you also have the option of beating bosses the cheaper way: spamming enemies to stock up on energy tanks. Just like Mega Man (they look like jars, don't know what they're called, but they're energy tanks).

The NES is riddled with hidden gems that not many people have heard of. That's why it's so fun collecting for the system.
