I don't play that many horror games, my imagination is fricked up enough as it is, but I just started playing Until Dawn and it has had me on edge the whole time.

The 2 scariest games I've played besides this one have been Dead Space and Resident Evil 4 (frick those sackface chainsaw wielding shits).

The scariest moment from a non-horror game for me was Croc's Lair in Arkham Asylum

I've played through Arkham Knight at least 3-4 times and Man-Bat's first appearance gets me every fricking time.

Scarecrow didn't really bother me, but I was on the edge of my seat during all of Croc's lair, so many damn rage quits

Not a big horror guy either but I remember being scared to open every door in that creepy arse mansion in resident evil 2.

I also remember watching my buddy play clock tower when we were in middle school and it being pretty disturbing. Something about a maniacal serial killer with a sledge hammer. We were up late playing and out of nowhere he just turned it off and I said what are you doing. He said "I can't do this anymore I'm frickin freaked out

same here

also, it is dead quiet in the sewer with only an occasional water drop, and then a burst of noise and music as croc jumps out, and you don't know how close he is, or the direction from which he is coming.

it's one of the more tense experiences I've ever had playing a game

Clock Tower made my arse quit in about 15 minutes when I was a kid.

ravenholm is a good one, yeah

idk if Metro 2033 counts as a Horror game , but, some of those underground moments are tense. Especially in the soviet nuclear commander bunker.. D6

You breathe a huge sigh of relief every time you reach a check point, and then you're like frick, I GOTTA GO BACK OUT THERE

you know it's good because even though the batarang has its own quickfire button, and you use it 5 million times before that point in the game...I died a couple of times fumbling around with the controls

also in the first uncharted when you're in the sub base trapped with the "natives" in that dark room

it's a pretty steep drop from my #1 but it was a tense sequence

I haven't played a ton of scary games, but I have played Amnesia and F.E.A.R. Amnesia is fear through constant tension and every now and then they scare the piss out of you, not necessarily pop out and jump at you. It's too intense for me and I couldn't play for more than ~30 minutes at a time, so I gave it up after a while.

F.E.A.R is really fun and scary at times, mostly pop-out-of-nowhere and make you jump kinda scary.

Fear 2 school scene freaked me out pretty good when I went through it the first time:

There were a few moments in TLoU which I wouldn't consider a horror game.

That game Jericho had some pretty scary moments. Full of suspense.

RE2 and Silent Hill are WAY up this list.

Ravenholm is my favorite part of HL2. I like to see how many zombies I can get to line up and then shoot all their heads off with a saw blade.
